This is his first post on the subject above, he is a vid blogger & reviews things (his own personal opinion).
If he wants to say on her that he has one & loves it, then thats what this site is about.

I also have a Tempur pillow & I love it too & think it well worth the money:D

And I have said over and over again, that his mattress is obviously suitable for him.

I have never said that it is a bad mattress, I just pointed out the negatives.

This is nothing to do with the products I sell, as I could sell any product I like. If I think a product is good enough, and the price is right, then I will consider selling it. As I said to you before, the mattress you bought may be a good product, but you paid way, way over the top because you went for a big brand name. But that is your choice.

Yes I know he is a video blogger, and I am starting to feel that his whole argument with me is more to do with the fact that I dared to put his own personal view into question. And if he is a professional blogger, then I suppose it would bring his professional integrity into question. What qualifies him to be an expert on all the products he reviews, when really his view is just as valid as any one of the 1000's of people I talk to?

As I have said many times, I only give general advice. I don't promote any particular product, I only advise on what general design works best (without sales gimmicks, hype, or key word spamming).

As for your pillow, you like it, and you from what you keep telling us can obviously afford it, so that's all that matters to you. However I am giving advice to people on the 'MONEY SAVING EXPERT' web site, where most people don't want to, or can't afford to pay high prices. So in the spirit of the web site I rightly advise people that there are many other less well known products out there, that are just as good (if not better), for less money.

Now as I have said before. Can we please get back onto the thread subject.

Money saving isn't about buying the cheapest product.

Its about buying the best product for you, at the best price.

There is a major difference there Tim.

I also resent & take exception to the snidy tone in your response to me.
If you get years of good use out of something that is also money saving.
Its also less wasteful to buy one quality product than 4 cheapie ones that you need to keep replacing.

While I'm sure you know more about beds than most on here, yours is not the only voice on beds & others are entitled to post & be heard too.

You DO jump on posts that don't want pocket sprung mattresses & suggest they are silly for wanting anything else.
You also jump on posts that are looking at well known brands linked to chain stores.
While you are happy in the independent sector there are millions of people who buy from well-known brands who are more than happy with their beds.
These brands would NOT be household names if people didn't like & keep buying them.

Try to remember we all have a right to post on our own opinions. This is about members of the public helping each other out.

It would help if you would actually read my posts before making those comments.

You once asked me advice, and I tried my best to help you by saving you a huge amount of money, by advising you to go for a better spec product for less money. You decided not to take my advice, but that is your choice. So lets just leave it at that shall we.

I advise about the best type of construction, because most people simply don't have a clue. This does not mean that I jump on them.

The reason why some brands are big names is mainly down to the power of advertising. It does not meant they are the best products.....Silentnight are a prime example of this.

Yes you are right. We do all have the right to give our opinion. But there is a big difference between the opinion of one person who has one model, and the opinion of 1000's of people relayed through an expert.

Thats an assumption, how can you know there is a bed out there for MY NEEDS for less money that is better specs.

    You can't.

If you had left it at less money you may well be right, who knows. But you cannot say they are better specs for less money:confused:

Its that "I'm know best about beds & ONLY my opinion is valid attitude" that people are talking about.
We all own a bed on here & we are all entitled to say if we find our own bed comfortable/the-dogs/rubbish.

BTW, does anyone know if there is anywhere you can buy a Tempur mattress at a discounted price but still get the 60 day home trial option? I've realised that it seems you only get the home trial if you buy directly from them at the full price - but I'd obviously like the best of both worlds if possible ;)

I don't think there is, I thought about a Tempur & I did find a great price in the west country (even with delivery).

  • I'm thinking about buying this memory foam matress:

    Additions Direct mattress

But I've never owned one and dont want to spend £350 on a matress that's no good! Anyone had any experiences with them good or bad??

I have just been to stay with my sister in law at her house in London and she had a memory foam mattress which apparently cost her £900 from some posh shop in London. I have to say though it was superb, the comfiest mattress I had slept on so much so when we got home we ordered one straight away because our sprung mattress is shocking in comparison. We ordered from the memory foam warehouse , mainly because it is just a few miles from our house in Batley- the bed/ matress making centre of the UK and they look to have a decent set up. Research indicates that the only downside is that they can get warmer than a normal mattress, so we got a cool fabric one to counter that. You may be better ordering from this specialist company than getting one from the catalogue shops.

Just get a mattress topper for around £60, apparently its only the top 6cm that does the work anyway

If you look at the link to the mattress you provided the top 9cm is only memory foam anyway so seems a waste of money IMO , just get a topper

My matress has completely shot it though, its warped in the middle so need to get a new one. Thanks for the suggestion though.
