Recommended memory foam mattress supplier required - value for money, tips, etc.

Are these memory foam mattresses any good ?

I actually need a small double (4ft) one.

    Thanks for your help,

I can't recommend anything on here, but have a look through this and the which mattress threads.

A good memory foam mattress is very good, but a poor one is very complete rubbish.
  • I have just had a look at this mattress and would like to know if it is really too good to be true as it does seem cheap for a calypso one. Any info would be much appreciated. Its from bedstreet.co.uk

    Thanks

I am totally confused , I want to buy new a mattress for my king size bed and my 2 kids single beds. I was going to buy through Bedworld so had a look for revews online and found they had the worst reviews Ive ever seen. So now I am having to research all over again .

I need a mattress that doesnt dig into my ribs , I have fused ribs which are really painful.
    Kindness costs nothing :)

I actually know the owner of the web site, and the Calypso they sell isn't the same as the one you may have seen mentioned on here before (which has also dropped in specification). It is made by a different company, and is one of the cheaper, lower spec, reflex foam encapsulated pocket spring mattresses.

So what attracted you to Bedworld in the first place?

Have you tried pocket sprung with memory foam? It would mould to your body without causing pressure points.
  • I was at the ocean terminal shopping centre in edinburgh and there was a company that had displays of their mattresses but having read through various threads it seems that i should be buying pocket spring memory foam if i want it to last. the web address is parkbeds.co.uk but im finding it quite hard to actually choose a mattress that should last and there are so many to choose from.

The fact that they say that the RRP for a king size mattress is nearly £1800 for a reflex foam/memory foam mattress would completely wipe out any confidence in anything else they say.

You are right in saying that the best option is pocket sprung (not reflex foam encapsulated) with memory foam. Two sided if you can get it.

    Hi Tim

I'm after a new bed as my back is in agony most days I wake up. I have around 1k to spend can you recommend a good mattress? Also, I'm not sure where to buy it from as I've heard Dreams are a bunch of con artists.

    Cheers

I had seen someone mention it on here ,

    Why is pocket sprung better
compared to cage sprung or reflex foam ?
    Kindness costs nothing :)
