Hi, I would love to get a code for my brother as hes wanted sky sports for ages but couldnt afford it. I'd be very grateful. Thanks x0

I never had sky before so these are some pretty noobish questions.
basically I have a Virgin phone line and broadband just sky TV on it's own will fit in perfectly ok won't it? Someone said they have to connect the box to Sky BB but I don't think that is correct.
Do you get Sky Go and Sky Anytime with this offer?
Also the sky dish where I would want it placed on the wall above a conservatory I have heard I may need a 'hazard' team to fit the dish, does anyone know what would that entail? would this not be included in the free installation?0 -
Virgin's broadband and telephone services work perfectly well with Sky.basically I have a Virgin phone line and broadband just sky TV on it's own will fit in perfectly ok won't it? Someone said they have to connect the box to Sky BB but I don't think that is correct.

Sky Go and Sky Anytime (soon to be "On Demand") are available to all Sky TV customers, but the level of service depends on what subscription you choose.
It's impossible to comment on your final question without sight of your conservatory. It's also pertinent to point out that the dish must be placed in a position that allows it to receive signals from the satellite.
While I'm aware of a "special heights" team, I've never heard of one with "hazard" in the name. Sky work to very strict health and safety rules and won't fit where they deem it unsafe to do so.0 -

Where do you actually select this option to pay the £25 fee?
When I pick my TV package it asks either for a current landline number or the option "Awaiting Phone Line". There isn't a no landline option. (This is part 1 of the checkout where you input the name and address details).
And there is no option of the £25 fee in the Set-up and Payment section either.

I can't say, it was someone else ( "rummy") who said it was available via the website.Where do you actually select this option to pay the £25 fee?
I haven't proceeded further because of having no landline
It's certainly available as an option to those who sign up by telephone (but do remember, if you want Multi-room you'll need to connect it to a fixed and operational landline for as long as you subscribe).0 -
I have 2 codes (not been greedy, I got one and my wife got one at the same time at work) Anyway I'm not going to use either of them so first 2 people to PM me gets them.0

Thank you that's put my mind to rest.
Ah yes the special heights team is what I mean I just could for the life of me remember the name.
It's a shame I couldn't just fit the dish myself, I could put it over the conservatory no problem I've been up there before.
Is the wind issue likely to be an issue at all? A Google search does say it can be a major problem.0 -
I had mine fitted to the chimney stack on the roof (and so exposed to all weathers) and never experienced a signal problem in ten years. Is the wind issue likely to be an issue at all? A Google search does say it can be a major problem.
It does sound like they'll knock back any request for the area above the conservatory. The alternative is to employ an independent installer (at cost, of course) who will usually be happy to install it wherever you tell him to.
Do remember, if the place is too sheltered it may also have a poor line of sight to the satellite. It's also recommended that dishes are off set from the wall, so your choice may not be the best one. Get an independent installer out to look at it.0 -

I think an independent installer will be best even over buying a dish kit from the likes of ebay and fitting it myself, line of sight to the sky is perfect from anywhere on both walls so that should give no problem.
I'll have a think about it.
Thank you for the help and information.0
