i use tiscali for broadband,only had i downtime moment,lasted about 6 hours,
they will enforce fair users policy, they have with me,its not unlimited like they say but only restriction is 6pm to 11pm(not allowed to download using p2p or the like at this time), i can cope with that.don't get mad do yoga0 -
Been with them for about 4 years, everything fine til Xmas and then it went to a rubbish service. Nothing but problems.
Got the MAC code within 2 hours of asking for it (by phone). They phoned and even sent an email with it in!
Nightmare since then. Finally switching at the end of the week, original switch date was 18th May. We found out today Tiscali had us down, our line anyways, as LLU when we are most definately NOT! That was the delay. A stalling tactic?! Probably, or incompetence - take your pick!
If you have a choice, do not go there.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Having formally been an employee of Tiscali I would recommend the best way of cancelling would be by writing to them as opening hours for the cancellations line are limited.
Tiscali Customer Care
P.O. Box 7206
Kiln Farm,

State clearly you wish to cancel giving three forms of identification i.e. Customer Code, Tiscali Email, Your name, Address, DOB.
Hope this helps.
Using the freephone sales number will not get you through to another department as sales do not have an internal referal switch.

We rang up to get our MAC code and it's been used. Isn't that 'cancelling'? Do we still need to write to them? We will be asking for it in writing though.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

Requesting a MAC code is not cancelling, it is merely giving you the facility to transfer to a new provider. Just because you request a MAC does not mean that you are going to use it. You would still have to contact Tiscali to cancel your agreement with them.
Some ISPs however once you have switched to them will contact your previous supplier to inform them that your migration has been successful however don't hold your breath many do not.
To be on the safe side cancel yourself to ensure you receive no further charges that way you know it is done for definate.

Tiscali is pants!
After not being able to log into the internet for over 24 hours this week I am told that apparently there is no problem. Then after a lengthy phone call to god knows where in the world, with a guy who doesn't understand me, within 10 mins of the phone call ending my internet is mysteriously back?!?!?!
Now we have a new game.....internet is fine during the day, but for the last 3 days come 8pm ish is pants again. A few websites work but the majority I try to use do not.
Thanks Tiscalli!Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives

Some things never change. I got rid of them 3 years ago & it was the best thing I ever did.0

Same thing happened to me - for a month. It only came back on yesterday an broadband speed, literally minutes before I was going to cancel the contract after dozens of phonecalls to their 'techinical support' desk, who consistently told me there was no problem. The instant it happens again I am changing, at the moment I am staying put, mainly becasue I am so glad to have broadband again and so scared of losing it with another ISP (they all seem to have a large number of complaints!)0

I've just done the deed, can't be bothered with them anymore.0

Has anyone else been having trouble with their Tiscali broadband connection?
Ive been without mine since the 6th of July. Have called the 'technical support' line numerous times and been lied to frequently - all costing me money- and still cant connect.
Sent a letter to customer services via recorded delivery but still no reply from Tiscali.
They had the cheek to send me my monthly invoice for my broadband service.
Am I within my rights not to pay this monthly fee?
I am still under the 12 month term of my contract but can I break this as they are not providing the service I am paying for?
Any help much appreciated, I will reply to any messages when I can as I have to use my local library's internet service, well at least thats free:j0
