Awww. Your story sounds quite like my DS. He used to love dressing up in my high heeled boots along with his football kits. And we worried about him maybe being gay. But he liked other "manly" things. Just like your lad in taking an old pc to bits. TBH I think he done the dressing up thing to entertain people. He'd do anything for a laugh. We have pictures of him with his hair extensions in, his high heels, my bra with a couple of oranges in it :rotfl:
Just because they do things like this in childhood doesn't mean they are or are going to be gay. My ds is now a strapping 16 yr old who's been with his gf for over a year (too young to be going steady IMO but you know what first love is like) and yes, my x also blamed me for these things he done.
Let him grow and flourish naturally, being gay is not something u can make someone be or not be.
Thank you so much that has really made me smile.
My sons Dad is a tall strapping man and I have no doubt our son will be!
I am dreading the conversation telling him that our son wants to join gymnastics after seeing Lewis Smith I think his name is! And he is deffinatly not gay!

Your son sounds like a thinker. Mathematician, engineer type maybe? He sounds like he likes to do activities that keep his brain engaged. It strikes me that many of your high up eutrepreneurs such as Mark Zucherburg, Bill Gates etc probably more more interested in topics of the thinking variety, rather than the physical. Both married incidentally.
What a shame his dad is being so negative about his interest, wouldn't you think he'd encourage him in what he's interested in - the computers for example.MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -
What a lovely man your ex is... Be thankful that your son does not consider him a role model
Your son sounds adorable
I used to be a complete tom boy. I hated dolls, played rugby with the guys, etc. I'm now married and still a tom boy :rotfl:
Even if your son is gay, then at least he has a lovely tolerant mum who will help him in any way she can. xx0 -

just tell his Dad you know a lad who was great at gymnastics club, who also played cricket and football for his school at the same time, and is now in the Wolves football apprentice programme (that would be my strapping teenage nephew
).
Boys gymnastics involves a lot of circuit training, just like footballers.0 -

Having seen the training that the gymnasts do - then it is definitely not gay (and why would anyone think that spending hours at a gym with skantily clad, attractive girls is a gay pursuit?)...
Perhaps next time his dad mentions it tell him that scientists have discovered homosexuality is genetic and comes from the fathers side... That'll confuse him

I would like grandchildren one day
I don't think my dd will give me any given her disabilities. Selfish perhaps, but hey ho, I'm not going to hide it. I wouldn't like for any of my children to be gay, ofc if they were then I'd love them all the same. So yes, some of us did worry about it. I think it's hard enough for children growing up in this cruel world without them having differences that make them easy targets.
And yes, although my son liked dressing up, he was also obsessed with ogling on the beach, even as a toddler... Yum Lunch!!!!4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Incidentally - I have a friend who is a journalist. He can't tell us who, but he says you would be amazed how many premiership footballers who are gay.
Have you ever noticed there never seems to be many who've "come out"?
Is it really because they're all straight? Or is it because football isn't ready yet for them to come out?MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0
