I havent had time to read the entire thread but wanted to chip in anyway. I've just had the pleasure of coming home from a trip abroad with 5 girls and one of my gay male friends.
He is without shadow of a doubt as camp as christmas, he is also intelligent, witty, hilarious, a complete gentleman, a deep soul, brilliant company and has spent the past 4 days looking after us ladies like we were his own mother on a pedestal surrounded by angels and covered in glitter.
He's also in a very good job that he works hard at, financially independant, has an amazing social life and looks after all of his friends and family.
It shouldnt matter whether he is gay or straight, however in this debate I just wanted to point out that regardless of my friends sexual preferences, he is the sort of man that I would weep with pride daily if he was my son.
Screw the ex's homophobic notions. He's a small minded idiot and he shouldn't care what or who his son turns out to be as long as his morals are in check and his heart is in the right place0 -
I've just read over the bit about children, and grandchildren.
I can see what you mean, you would be disappointed if your son doesn't have biological children with a woman, but i think you have to reconcile yourself to the fact that this might not be a) possible b) his choice whether he is gay or not.
Its clear from your posts you are a loving, thoughtful person. I'm pretty confident the day your gay son placed a grandchild into your arms, whether it be adopted, donor egg, whatever, those concerns would be gone.0
