And by behind the curve, I mean the NFC support, which I can see becoming quite popular over the next few months.

Given that NFC is now another possible way for someone to get your data I'm kinda wondering why I'd want NFC in any phone.

This is not against the S3 specifically, it's down to makers not securing devices fully and/or not updating the firmware once released (and that may also be the networks at fault), but if NFC is another security hole in a handset I'd just prefer not to have it.

  • I don't think I'd jump from a 4/4S to the 5 personally but I have a 3GS and am going to pick up my 5 this afternoon.
I don't care about NFC, I don't want a wider screen (tiny hands), at the moment I don't want the learning curve of a new OS. A biggish thing for me is design and sorry but on that front and how good it feels in your hand, iphones still are head and shoulders above any other phone I've seen.
Not ruling out Android at the moment but at the moment the iphone 5 is the right phone for me.

I'd quite fancy getting one to try, however the only drawback for me is that you HAVE to use iTunes. Everytime i put this on my computer it grinds to a standstill!!
If there was a way of doing stuff on the phone and not having to use iTunes to back up etc then i would be tempted to trying the iphone.
Also I am not sure if you can use your computer to text whilst connected (either by wifi or usb). When i am at work I can't cope with texts and having to get my phone out of my pocket to answer them. Hence i have it set to pop up on my computer so that i can just type back as i am working. Is this possible on the iphone??
