I have had & used all 3 in last year, a advanced and experienced user in all, for smartphone newbies or other, simplicity and a equal balance is WP OS major point.

EXAMPLE: Internet/wifi sharing: not network (iOS) or app (Android) defined - thats one major selling factor to the masses WP OS includes such as a default to use data you pay for how YOU the consumer wishes.

Android tethering is not app defined, both USB and wifi tethering are supported natively since May 2010.

Iphone 3 then Iphone 3s, Iphone 4 then Iphone 4s .. Moral of the story? Dont buy a Iphone 5 just wait for the 5s!

And can be blocked by the network - M/S does not allow networks that in WP7.

Well the 3G to 3GS was a speed upgrade, minor tweeks

4G to 4GS minimal spec tweek, i5 to i5S I guess will be the same..

So in 2014 i6 we might get something market leading ??

So all in choose any handset on 24 months and by completion i6 *might* be worthy of your upgrade/contract till 2016, thats alot of years potential missed revenue - one might say bobbing for "APPLES" between bruised apples until there is ONE you actually can get your teeth into :D

That's completely wrong, WP7 tethering has been blocked by carriers when it's not been paid for, same as some have done it for Android.

    PROOF ?

I've used WP7 tethering on all the big 5...none block it, M/S do not allow control of any of the OS to networks.

Manufacturers can add their own apps but not play with OS, thus every WP has the same features as basic.

Apple restrict, Android can be changed in a multitude of ways, WP sees all users get OS as intended & released to manufacturers from Redmond - it's a selling point of WP, one size fits all...not giving your network the ability to control to/or financially rape you.

A WP8 "update" is meant to be getting frequency selection on bands aswell given the current choices are "allow 3G" (as iOS) as frequency band selection was a default in Windows Mobile 6.5.

T-Mobile 3G forces calls to T-Mobile 2G their falling to bits broken calls network, 3UK will roam to a Orange base station when the signal stronger than 3's but connection is blocked by 3 believing there is a 3 signal by map coverage.

These problems are replicated over the world and thus WP8 is considering the return of the Windows Mobile 6.5 user chooses band & frequency manual/automatic interface ;)

If you don't like iPhone or Apple products then Windows Phone are worth looking into. The Samsung and HTC are going to release them very soon.
Both Samsung and HTC know that by Google taking over Motorola over a period of time the Motorola may become the main manufacture of Android phone. If this was to happen both companies will end up with no major os unless start to use Windows Phone os.

Why is the thread drifting to iphone vs any other phone?

I just cannot see the draw, it is about 6 months behind the curve, but if I am missing something, then please fill me in.

And by behind the curve, I mean the NFC support, which I can see becoming quite popular over the next few months.

Also the limited spectrum support for 4G network, which limits the network you can be on."

there are plenty of iphone vs other phones threads already.
