I always read through OH's txts !!! I know some will say (& have) that this means there is no trust, but I put it down to me just be nosey! As someone else pointed out, if he had anything to hide, then I'm sure he wouldn't leave it laying around. As for emails, well his is the main one we have, so I have access to it - no password needed. I have hotmail, which does require a password, he doesn't know it, although it wouldn't take him much to guess what it is tbh! (his name!)

    Never.

And, I don't check his wallet, post or EMails.

    Nor does he mine.

If it gets to that stage, then best thing is to walk.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Not neccesarily Morglin. Life isnt black or white - there's a ton of grey in between. We had a bad patch in our marriage which resulted in hubby engaging in an "inappropriate" relationship. I found out - via texts on his phone and it was a wake up call for both of us. We turned things around and are both glad (now several years on) that we didnt walk away from each other. I must admit that I never checked his phone before I got suspicious, and I dont feel the need to check these days either. People do daft things at times, and I believe if you have truly loved someone in the past, you shouldnt just throw it away. You know when a relationship is over, and I didnt want to let go of ours.
  • I would only check a partners fone if i had a good reason (ie they had been acting oddly etc..), i wouldnt feel the need to if there was no good reason..

Alot of my friends text me about there private stuff, relationships etc, i dont think it would be right for there private stuff to me to be read by my partner..

Texts can also be read the wrong way, sometimes ive had a good old moan about my oh (now ex) by text to my bestmate, if he was to have read that what good would it do , its my personal thoughts to a friend.. none of anyone elses business (even if you do love them with all your heart etc..)

I check his pockets or i get tissues in the washing machine.
I check his wallet or it is like a brick and full of junk.
I check his phone if it beeps and hes not there as it might be important.
I dont check emails, as i have no reason to.

I would not object if he did similar things. Why would i unless there was something i didnt want him to see. I know women who bite if their OH looks in their handbag; very strange if you ask me.

So true. I only checked a phone when I was suspicious and it was confirmed. Worst day of my life...but two years on we are still together and trying very hard.I wasn't prepared to give up on 17 years for a mid life crisis.
He leaves his phone lying around all the time now, but I don't read it...

Having been there and got the t-shirt with a cheating partner - we did work though it.
But now I can't be bothered with checking his phone - I only did because my suspicions were aroused and I was proved right.
Not that I have ever tried it yet nor do I intend to (I might add!!) - I have adopted the stance of what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!! and he knows it!!

Could you read a Sim if their phone has a password lock on it?
