Have you applied for a departure based on housing costs?

I don't understand why there's a percentage reduction for new children if it's on CS1.As I understand it there is an addition to the nrps protected income but if the partner has an income it may not be the full amount allowed to him.Get googling too as I found info on here regarding that.

I understand why you're narked btw!

If it was opened in 2003 you could well be on CS2

    Thank you! xxx
No I haven't applied for a departure, csa seem to fob me off because I really have no clue what I'm talking about! I Will google it now! I think I need to write on a bit of paper bullet points before I ring them because they always seem to waffle on about something else then I forget the info I looked up!
  • has he changed job? is it possible he's actually earning less? many people have had to take pay cuts or reduce their working hours in recent years.

I understand your frustration. All you can do is push the CSA and see if you can get a departure/variation.

If I was you I'd give them a call and check what system you're on first. If they say the old rules tell them you want to apply for a departure. They'll get a form sent out for you to fill in.Once they get it back it can take a while for them to look at (sent mine beginning of august and the case worker looked at it last week!) they'll send to NRP and give him two weeks to respond (they will tell you he can't really give any defence to his partner not paying towards housing if she has an income). If no details are provided that's when they could do a cat b.

Just calling for an update on mine!
If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?

No he hasn't changed jobs! Been at the same place sinc hewas 17 (now 44) he has cut his hours tho! Purely because his baby was born in August and he knew they would ask for wage slips for the past 3 months so he worked less the last 3 months! He's done this twice before and I don't know why because then I request another assessment and the money gos back up! He has cut his hours at Xmas time before! :)

Well, that was bizarre!Just called the departures team and the phone was answered by an IT guy who is moving the computers around or something and asked for my details to find someone to call me back in a mo:rotfl:

Are you sure he does all these things simply to avoid paying as much CSA?

You seem to believe he takes evasive actions to reduce his payments, taking actions that would clearly come under the category of "cutting nose of to spite face".

I'm willing to bet the reality lies somewhere in between.

As for the attitude from the original reply in this thread, i think that was bad manners. Ignore that crap, Natalie. Your ex should face up to his responsibilities but at the same time if it's just about the principle (which, lets be honest - there's a monetary issue here, too - naturally!) then just let him have his comeuppance and let him do what he wants.

I know what you mean! My sisters husband still sees him regularly so I hear certain things back from him like he deliberately cut his hours to spite me but, my ex could just be saying that because he's not getting as much work and he doesnt want to admit it! I mean I don't know anything for sure it's just he said she said sort of thing which I hate anyway but it's all I get! My ex won't see his girls and I phoned him about three years ago to let him know something had happened to his daughter and he told me to go away (not so politely begins with f and ends with f) and hung up! I will be honest, with the amount I was receiving from him pw I was annoyed to lose it but what annoys me more the csa payments completely stop in 2/3 years! What's the point, he made it this far may as well see it through to the end! I have had time to calm and realise its not worth me getting so angry! I wish I had ignored the crap in the beginning of the thread because I just made myself look bad :( I know now in future tho!
  • Reading your board you stated that your ex has been paying maintenance for the last 6 years, so that means that you must be on the 2003 scheme CSA2? If you are then it is worked out on percentages and does not unlike CSA1 take your ex husbands partner wage into account, so why have you stated that she is with holding her wage slips, so why are you so intrested in her wage? also they do not take morgate payments into account on CSA2. I would be intrested to know who gave you this information?

Google! I'm on csa1 definately. I don't want any of her money! Lol! All I want is for it to be proven that she is paying half the mortgage with him! Because they are saying that he is paying the full mortgage by himself which is not true I know 100% for a fact that they are both on the mortgage and paying it together! The only reason I want this done is because the mortgage is really really high and leaves less disposable income for him to pay for his two girls! I just want to clarify, I am not after him to pay more money I have been more than grateful with the payments I've have been receiving, it's just payments have been dramatically reduced for some reason and I can't grasp why! And I lost track of the years it has been more than 6 years he's been paying, sorry for any confusion!
So, if I was on csa2 they wouldn't take his mortgage payments into account?
