at this point I almost think that Orange/Tmobile/Apple are starting to make things up.
Yes, this is my feeling too. That's why it's worth asking the question multiple times. The most frequent answer is likely to be the most accurate rather than one staff member making things up as they go along.

LOL my my, what a customer care charter "you will know what is accurate after several calls where the balance of probabilities lies as to a conclusion" :rotfl:
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

It's worth continuing to ask the question from Orange and Apple, because the advice seems to change each time. I've just phoned Orange business customer services again on 345 and they told me that the only way to get a nano-SIM is from Apple. Apple have a supply of generic nano-SIMs, not branded to any network, and once you obtain one, you can phone Orange and get your number switched over to the new SIM.

I find that far fetched, especially as Vodafone and 3 already have branded nano sims in channel.

Vodafone has confirmed that it will be stocking half a million nano-SIM cards as it ramps up to the launch of the iPhone 5.

Yes, I think it sounds very unusual too. However, it could be that Apple has unbranded nano-SIMs for networks that are not issuing nano-SIMs yet. It could be that EE has decided only to issue EE-branded nano-SIMs and it hasn't been able to brand them yet. It could be the case that nano-SIMs supplied with Orange and T-Mobile iPhones will be unbranded as well. Of course, I'm only guessing, but pointing out what is possible.

Good news! Existing customers can now order a nano SIM. Please contact CS via 150 and they'll arrange this for you ^Jon

Just seen this on oranges twitter.

Called up and got someone with a very thick accent that didn't really know what i was on about. He said no one has nano sims yet and i would have to pick one up in store.

Not much help to me at all but it might be worth a try for anyone else hoping to get one!

Thanks for a very useful first post! I've just phoned Orange business customer services on 345 and ordered one. They are saying it will be delivered by Royal Mail within 4 working days, so let's hope it arrives by Friday. The first nano-SIM is free of charge.
  • Got mine ordered now. Although I've heard stories with other carries that they ended up getting a micro sim. Anyways, thanks guys.

Its worth calling back. I just called and have got one. 4 Business days for delivery.
  • Just to confirm this works! I tried a second time and got through to a very helpful iPhone team.

If they don't know what nano sim you mean you can ask them to check "guru"

Should be here in 4-5 working days, free of charge, no change to the contract!! Good luck guys!!!

No problem! Glad I could help! I've been lurking for a while, hoping to start posting more now.

I'm hoping it will arrive by Friday aswell!

Three are offering a very good nano sim only deal for £12.90 unlimited data that I was going to get if I couldn't get an orange one soon. Might be useful for anyone that wants a decent sim only deal for iPhone 5
