it shouldn't the worst they can do is charge £20 for the replacement sim, if they are going to charge more you should be able to cut down the sim carefully yourself and shave a little off the back and it will work no problem.0 -
An Orange shop in central London told me yesterday that they expect to receive nano-SIMs next week, but Orange business customer services told me today that nano-SIMs (when not supplied with a phone) will be delayed by two to three weeks.0

Spoke to very informative lady at orange today who was very sympathetic. Basically people who have purchased the Iphone5 from apple (LIKE ME) are going to be with out a nano sim for 2-4 weeks. Basically she said all the nano that they have in stock have been allocated to Iphones purchased through Orange themselves and that they have no intention of releasing nano's to existing customers who purchased their phone through Apple. They are going to announce SIM ONLY plans on the 26th September but it has to be a change of plan or a new plan NOT a number port onto a different sim so basically we will have to wait a few weeks with a useless phone. Sorry guys but orange dont care0

I'm on a T-Mobile 12 Month Sim Only deal (which I've just renewed). I also thinking of buying (direct from Apple) an iPhone 5, so called T-Mobile to see what I can do with my contact.
I was advice that all I need is anew Nano Sim which they should be able to supply (best to get one direct from a T-Mobile shop), he advised there maybe a £10 charge for a replacement Sim (Nano) & my number would be transfer to this new Sim, then my contract would continue the same.
The only issue is he didn't know when they would have Nano Sims that could be supplied for this purpose, but hope it should be on 21st, however if it's like the Micro Sim it could be a few days later, depending on the stock of Nano Sims.0 -
Does anyone have any idea where one could get a micro-SIM cut to a nano-SIM until Orange get their act together? I'm guessing some mobile phone shops might have nano-SIM cutters, possibly even Apple stores. Any ideas? I'm not keen on cutting it manually.
Whereas micro-SIM cutters are around £2 on eBay, nano-SIM cutters are around £15 through demand and lack of competition. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=nano%20sim%20cutter&_sop=150 -
You could order a few GiffGaff Sims and try to cut one of those down (a few so you have some spares if you mess up) GiffGaff because the Sims are free, PAYG & can buy a Goodbag. It will put you until Orange have some Nano Sims.
You'd have to Call Forward your Orange Number to the GiffGaff Number (somehow) or have 2 phones which defeats the point0 -
According to http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/iphone/ UK Apple stores stock SIM cards, primarily to sign up customers to UK mobile networks. I phoned two Apple stores near me to find out more. It turns out that they do SIM swaps quite regularly, usually without charge. However, they can't give out any nano-SIMs until Friday.
It reflects very well on Apple and very badly on Orange that Apple has to carry out Orange's customer service for them. This is a complete shambles by Orange.0
