Hi Newleaf, I've never posted a photo, but I would like to know how too. Hopefully somebody can tell us, because I would love to see your bijou garden.

We have a good sized front and back garden, but if i've got any bulbs left over, i'll stick them wherever there is a bare bit of earth in the neighbourhood :).

Flowers cheer me up, and I have just picked loads of sweet peas from the garden and stuck them in pots around the house, c'est la vie.

Well done on getting your teeth sorted out, you will feel better for it although it is expensive, so if the NHS can do then that will save a small fortune.

I agree with others that you should treat yourself once in a while or everything gets a bit much. We all need something to look forward to, even if it is only a cup of coffee in peace before starting the next chore.

    You are doing so well.

    Thanks Heffi

    Day 13 of 12 week challenge - 77/365 - 21.0%.

DH and I went mountain biking yesterday, and it was great fun. We have all the kit and the trails are virtually on our doorstep, yet we hardly ever get our butts into gear, but yesterday we were lured out by the autumn sunshine.

I skipped Kundalini Yoga. I've done it for three weeks now and it doesn't really suit me. Too much huffing and puffing and twisting and chanting.

I'm swapping it for a body balance class on Wednesday evening, which is Tai Chi movements and stretching with 15 minutes guided meditation at the end. The type of meditation where you lie on your back, visualising yourself on a tropical beach with the sea gently lapping at your toes. I tried it last Wednesday and it was very relaxing.

    The new routine, is therefore:-

Monday evening - Weightwatchers and Zumba Class
Wednesday evening - Body Balance Class and Spa
Friday Morning - Pilates and Swimming
Saturday/Sunday - Walk or biking with whoever will come with me

Because I enjoy all the above activities, I am much more likely to keep the routine up.

Yesterday was a NSD so my £6.51 is still intact.

    Day 14 of 12 week challenge - 77/365 - 21.0%.

Thanks Newleaf, my mindset is definately beginning to change. Activity now feels enjoyable rather than an endurance test.

My MIL is coming for tea tonight, so I am going to change the menu's around and use a big bit of honey roast ham, that I got from Lidl's (for half the price that I would pay at Tesco's), for starters, and pull the last of the rhubarb from the garden to make WW rhubarb crumble.

Hopefully it'll taste good. This is the first time I have eaten any of Lidl's meat. I have been very impressed with their fruit and vegetables. They have a good selection of organic and locally grown produce at my nearest store.

I spent £0.96p, yesterday, on tea, which was unnecessary! Last week I took my flask around with me everywhere, so I mustn't break that habit. I now have £5.55 to last me until Friday so today WILL BE a NSD.

I was averaging £2.00 a day on teas and coffees, which equated to a princely £730.00 per year AAAAAAAAAH

Well done on the bike rides. We have the forest very close to us and I love riding my bike but can never seem to find the time to get out there and enjoy the fresh air. We are struggling getting our little daughter (5) to want to ride her bike which doesn't make it easier.

Ps wish all I spent yest was 96p

Thanks Yukkibear, my DS is 14 and very independent now, so it has freed up a lot of time. Five year olds are amazing though, has she just started school?

Well done Newleaf, that's the spirit! You have inspired me to re-do mine, but i'm swapping the purple for something more subtle and then i'm going scarlet at the weekend ;).

I have so much more time now that I am wasting loads of it. I will have to start organising myself better, i'll start tomorrow :).

I have just checked our electricity and gas accounts and we are £184.42 in credit, going into the winter, which should give us a buffer, if we are careful :).

  • Hi, just started reading your diary ... well done!! :T

    Just a question:
I have had no will power over the last couple of years. I had been trying to constantly lose weight, but just kept putting it on.

Stress eating (and drinking) was the root cause, but since I admitted that to myself and worked on what was bothering me, my will power seems to have returned with vengeance.

I have been feeling so much better over the last few months physically and mentally, and I really want this to continue for the long term, so I am prepared to give myself the attention that is required.

How did you work out what was bothering you? I am struggling at the moment (being made redundant in December :() - eating constantly and definitely not becaus I am hungry! :o Any advice gratefully received! x
