Twelve Weeks To Glow

Day 18 of 12 Week Challenge - 82/365 - 22.4%
Morning world,
I have got a new way of viewing my current desire to sleep longer and eat more.
The Ayurvedic principle is that this does not indicate that I have turned into a lazy, glutton, rather it shows that my body is in tune with nature, and within reason I should go with the flow, as our bodies need more fuel and rest at this time, to re-charge, and if it is the correct food it will not lead to weight gain
.
I have been advised to go to bed earlier each night and eat a big bowl of soup each day, for lunch, based around seasonal vegetables, rather than a salad or sandwich. Cut right down on tea and coffee and replace with warm herbal teas (such as root ginger, honey and black pepper) and chamomile and honey in the evenings.
My granny and mother always had a big pot of soup, on the go, throughout the whole winter, they knew what they were doing, I just need to continue the tradition.

My Meal Plan.
I spent £40.00 in Waitrose yesterday, and my major purchase was a large lamb shoulder for £13.00.
DH slow cooked it with caramalised vegetables and it was absolutely gorgeous. He also made HM banoffee pie, which was lovely too.
My plan is to spend about £13.00, each week, on a top quality joint or chicken and make it last three days.
Saturday - Slow Roasted Lamb with Caramalised Vegetables.
Sunday - Lamb Curry
Monday - Scotch broth with left over lamb and Baked Tatties.
Tuesday - Vegetable Burgers and HM Chips and garden vegetables.
Wednesday - HM pizza and salad
Thursday - Baked haddock with a lemon sauce and vegetables
Friday - Spaghetti Carbonara.
I have most of the ingredients for the above, I just need to stock up on vegetables from Lidl and some store cupboard items.
So I have a £30.00 lidl budget, which leaves me £10.00 for the week for any shopping bibs and bobs.
Soups for the week are:
Scotch Broth
Lentil Soup
Leek and potato Soup
I am baking my own bread again with the Panasonic, but I will try some different options this week, to liven things up x.Weight 12 st 2lb - Now 11 stone 1 lb (-15 lb)

Yummy soup. I went through a phase of making different soups, but stopped. Perhaps it's time to think about that again0

..That all makes perfect sense RB - I'll try and do similar when I'm back at my cottage; a big pot of soup is a great idea (though cutting out 'English tea' in favour of herbal varieties will be a problem for me).0 -
Hi Robin x.
I'll not cut out either completely, everything in moderation
, but I am a fan of the herbal teas and homemade teas, so it's no hardship for me, and I do love soup.
I'm going to have a cup of green tea once a day too, as that is supposed to speed up metabolism and aid weight loss.Weight 12 st 2lb - Now 11 stone 1 lb (-15 lb)

Day 19 of 12 Week Challenge - 83/365 - 22.7%
Morning.
I have been thinking about doing my Ayurveda with a Scottish twist.
Lidl had Scottish Porridge Oats on offer, 'Scotland's favourite since 1880!' So on the basis of this, I have decided that my Winter basic eating plan will look like this:-
Breakfast:-
Scottish Porridge Oats with a tablespoon of Cream and Pumpkin seeds (Healthy carbs/luxury and zinc)
Lunch - Large bowl of seasonal soup with brown soda bread and marmite - (Comforting and vitamin
.
Dinner - Menu planned meals, but on a plate half the size that I have been using, because I am tired of feeling deprived seeing a lot of empty space. I am going to purchase a small plate today.
Vitamins/minerals - Evening Primrose Oil - because it's great for balancing hormones in women of a certain age.
Cod Liver Oil, for my joints and skin because Scots traditionally take a teaspoon a day (Vitamin A), so my granny told me and my mother swore by it too.
Echinacea, because I have an elderly friend who is never ill and she swears by taking it every month that has an 'R' in it, and we are in OctobeR (This plan is very scientific:rotfl:)
Finally, the Queen Mother's secret weapon, and she, a fellow Scot, lived to 101 ........ Highland Park, Single Malt, Scotch Whiskey, Aged 15 years. A large bottle to see me right through a Loooooong winter.
I have all the above in stock, so no additional expenses .
I have put this basic plan in to the Weightwatcher point checker and it comes in at my daily allowance of 26 points and I can eat as much fruit as I like on top
.
I am also going to attempt Catandy's challenge of 9000 reps by the new year, to tone myself up. I am a bit concerned that I will look like this:-
Rather than this:-

Day 20 of 12 Week Challenge - 84/365 - 23.01%
Well, I did my first, modified version, of the reps, this morning while watching television.
I added a small aerobic warm up, jogging on the spot 200 times, 25 knee circles and 25 jumping jacks
I followed this with the 100 reps below:-
Then I finished with some Yoga stretches and some positive affirmations and the whole thing took 9 minutes and left me feeling very energised.
It is definately something that I could fit in daily and it was far easier than the 'Shred'. Thank you Custardy x.
I lost another 1lb at Weightwatchers yesterday, which I was suprised about as I have been consuming a lot more carbs, but obviously it was my body telling me that I needed them, with the increased exercise I have been doing and the winter drawing in.
I also got a wolf whistle as I walked into Morrisons. I turned around as a presentable pensioner shouted, "You're looking good girl' . To which I retorted, "You're not looking bad yourself!". I think we made each others day
