Jox, you must be a saint living happily with relatives in such a confined space! Well done for putting the money to the noble pursuit of being debt free x.

Thanks beanielou for your support x.

Another dark, wet morning. I find it is so much harder to get moving as the winter draws in, and I feel that my desire for over-indulging in carbs is beginning to escalate.

I have this longing to curl up in front of a roaring fire, with a bottle of mulled wine and some hot buttered crumpets and stay there until the spring.

I will need to work out a winter strategy for keeping me on track.

I spent £2.60 of my £5.55 yesterday, and again it was unnecessary spending, really. I felt sorry for DS, when he asked nicely for some money for crisps and sweets.

If i'd been organised I would have baked some biscuits or had a secret stash of treats that I could have accessed, just for him. On a positive note apart from nicking a few of his sweets, I didn't have any of my own.

    Money left is £2.95.

    Day 16 of 12 Week Challenge - 80/365 - 21.9%

    Hello, everyone

Of course you can all come to the slumber party :). I'm glad it's not just me who was a bear in a previous life.

I've decided that rather than sleeping for six months, I will
start my snuggling on Friday 28th December and remain comatose, in front of the fire, until Wednesday 2nd January 2013. I've put it in my diary!

I'm even going to start a snuggle box, where I will stick in any good books, DVD's, miniatures ;), pamper products, fluffy pyjamas ..... cuddly toys :rotfl: , all in anticipation of the main event.

I will, of course, be rewarding my good behaviour, which WILL continue :T.

I had another NSD, yesterday, which finished my month, within budget and another £100.00 saved.

I must admit the NSD was a close shave. We ran out of soap and it looked like we were all going to have to wash with shampoo. Fortunately I remembered I had a little bar of M&S, Rose scented soap, in a gift bag buried in a drawer, which saved the day.

DH and DS said smelling of rose petals all day drove them mad, and DH came home with a bumper pack of Imperial Leather soap, to reclaim his manhood..... result!

I was paid today and I now have £821.84 in my current account and £500.00 in my savings account.

DH manages most of the bills, as he earns double what I do, and he has saved £900.00 in three months, so a major turnaround for both of us. Thanks everyone for helping me to keep on the straight and narrowish.

My October budget is below. I plan to immediately transfer the £181.84 over to the savings account to bring it up to £681.84, on the principle of paying myself first.

DS needs new shoes/coat and winter woolies. DH covers most of the diesel budget, but I contribute if diesel spending goes above £120.00 in the month.

I am left with £10.00 a week each, entertainment monies, for DS and I and a £350.00 food budget for three of us.

Question - Do you think that is a reasonable amount, or should I be cutting this further?

I have also freed up a lot of time this month, by giving up one job and taking more hours at a higher paid job, so I am thinking of setting myself a target of earning an extra £200.00 for the savings by:-

    12 mystery shops - £140.00
HMRC (still haven't contacted them about rebate) - £35.00
Ebay - 4 Nearly new DVD's that I have been meaning to sell - £25.00

    October Plan

    Gym - £ 52.00
    Food - £350.00
    Misc - DS budget - £40.00
    Entertainment - £40.00
    Phone - £33.00
    Diesel - £30.00
    Clothes DS - £75.00
    Savings - £181.84
    Weightwatchers - £20.00

    PAYE earnings - £821.84

    Any comments gratefully received x.

You could always shave a teeny wee bit from the food budget.

    Day 17 of 12 Week Challenge - 81/365 - 22.1%

Thanks beanielou for the suggestion. I have implemented it and decided to join an MSE grocery challenge to keep me focused. I know there are loads of people on these boards who eat really well on a budget of £331.84 or less, so with more time in October, I am going to join them x.

I have decided to put the savings up to a nice round £200.00 and the new October Plan is as follows:-

    October Plan

    Gym - £ 52.00
    Food - £331.84
    Misc - DS budget - £40.00
    Entertainment - £40.00
    Mobile Phone - £33.00
    Diesel - £30.00
    Clothes DS - £75.00
    Savings - £200.00
    Weightwatchers - £20.00

    PAYE earnings - £821.84

Join the £10.00 a day challenge, targeting myself with £200.00 or £6.66 a day, extra earnings, for the savings pot.

Continue the store-cupboard and survival kit challenge from last month, which is progressing slowly. I am going to commit to doing an inventory and need list by 5th October 2012, on both.

Continue plodding along with weight loss, which is still on a downward trend :).
