    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

tinned tomatoes, boiled rice and a big dollop of bbq sauce mix all together pop in a bowl and eat with a dessert spoon Yummy
  • I second the big bowl of creamy mash potato but more importantly...

A nice big stack of home made crepes, with lots of lemon and sugar. Won't say how many I can quite happily polish off for a lazy dinner but its a fair few!!!

We had hot bacon and avocado sandwiches for dinner today with some left over salad - avocados are half price in tesco this week so I plan to make the most of it!
Try slices of boiled egg and slices of avocado, with Pizza Express salad dressing drizzled over the top (ours swims in it cos we love it loads), and then crumble some stilton over the top (amount to taste again), it's luscious! We've also put that mix into pittas so we can take it out too ;);)

thing is if you look at the ideas in this thread, the vast majority of them are things that we would never in a million years even consider serving to a guest. but if its just you and yours, and you want something cheap, fast and easy, then sometimes fishfinger sarnies/ goblin pie/ tomatoes on toast fills the spot.

this thread just goes to show that we dont have to be michelin starred chefs all the time; sometimes simple food is all thats required.

poached egg on toast anyone (with a runny yolk, naturally :D )
