Tin of beans with half a tin of corned beef cubed, and cooked until the corned beef goes mushy. Can add onions if you like. Served on toast, jacket potato, or with chips. I also blob brown sauce on it.

I think a Gobin Pie is one of these tinned things like Fray Bentos?

A firm fave with my kids (and me but DH isn't keen) is Pasta shapes (could do with spaghetti) with a cheap pasata sauce (morrisons do one for 35p which would be enough for 2 meals).. add some chopped onion and mixed spice...top with gratted cheese...yummy!!

Works out at arround £1.15 for 4 adult servings (as long as you get cheap pasta!!)

    Pigs BAck = 1230 points
    Boots Card = £19.42
    Tesco points this 1/4 = 6523
    Tesco Vouchers saved = £65

I make those a lot for my kids' breakfast if I've got leftover mash. They are fab served with streaky bacon and fried in the fat. Obviously you need proper bacon not that weird supermarket stuff that leaches white scum.

Tuna hash is my favourite stand-by meal

mashed potato (leftover is good), mixed with a tin of tuna, some sweetcorn (tinned or defrosted) and onion (spring/red/white - whatever is lurking in the fridge/veg basket). Brown in a frying pan then cover with a good handful of grated cheese & pop under the grill. If you're feeling flush top with a sliced tomato :D

potato skins, par boiled then fried or roasted. served as a side, or a main with some cheesy thing going on (cottage cheese is good).

can be given a kick by sprinkling cayenne pepper on whilst frying, but *warning* it gets right to the back of your throat whilst cooking so don't go sticking your head over the pan!
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!
