The asda cheap noodles (something like 9 or 11p?) are good, we take out the flavour sachet because it is syns and shove a stock cube in because they are free!

Are the noodles made without the flavour sachet free on EE? I can never work that out (another blonde moment I guess!)

More homemade leek and tattie soup on the hob almost ready to cool then blend :) my mums given me a recipe for tomato soup to try and make to so might try that.

The tot is exhausted and therefore clingy and grouchy! his mum said he had a restless night but she still only wants him to have between 15 and 20 minutes nap with me during the day (I have him from 07.15 until about 17.30 everyday) he dropped off for ten minutes whilst watching cbeebies after breakfast but now looks ready to drop off again! means I'm getting no planning done r.e food for mine and the bfs holiday in a couple of weeks or anything else done and he just wants cuddles and won't play!

The asda cheap instant mash is good for making pizza bases, it is really bland so doesn't taste like potato which makes it perfect for pizza!

We stock up on things like muller lights, fruit, veg, mug shots, to snack on.

Asda chickpea dahl is really tasty and free. Batchelors savoury rice is generally on some sort of offer in Asda. I like their fish counter, they'll put a single salmon fillet (I like smoked) in a cook bag so you can microwave it. If you like stir fry, their beansprouts (50p) are good value.

There has been mention through the thread of mug shots are they all syn free and what other things similar are syn free?

    Thank you :D

  • Hi all
I'm back from holiday, went to WI and put on 4 pounds. I'm not really shocked as I didn't think SW at all while I was out there... and I won't even tell you what we had for breakfast one morning.

Need my mojo back. I was ecstatic when I'd lost 8.5 pounds and now I couldn't care less. I want to do this, I want to feel better about myself and fit into all my lovely clothes I've outgrown. I've also bought a gorgeous coast dress that doesn't quite fit me from fleabay for a black tie do on November 24th in order to entice me to get back on SW.

I'm still finding my days off work are the worst, as I just pick out of boredom. Being at work means having all my food in my lunchbag and knowing I should only eat what's in there. Perhaps I should start doing that on my days off too, having it all prepared as if I was at work.

Anyway well done to all you losers. I'm getting some ideas having read back a few pages, I need to start writing all these little helpful hints down (such as tinned ravioli from MrS being free, excellent for a quick bite!).

The sweet and sour mugshots are free but the others have syn values between 1 and 3 I think so low syn in comparison to other things

Batchelors savoury rice is free as are the low fat chicken and herb super noodles

I'm sure others could help more with syn free stuff - I mostly snack on chicken, ham, eggs and fruit or veggies at the moment so I'm not much use I'm afraid

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to asda today, Hubby had a slight breakdown at the till but hey ho!

Got lots of fresh herbs reduced so they have been chopped up and put into labelled bags in the freezer ready to flavour soups etc.
Brought Low Low mature cheese spread, extra light laughing cow triangles (thought these might be nice mashed into a jacket potato with some garlic, salt and pepper). Mug shots (just the 1% ones), plain dried noodles (thought with an oxo they would be like supernoodles as we're not too keen on the low fat ones). Stocked up on baking potatoes, so I can bake a few at a time and freeze them for hubby.

Also I took on board advice about being sure to use our syns from you lovely lot and brought some alpen light bars (oh my the chocolate orange one is yummy!) and a few other bits like hot choc sachets, ryvitas etc.

Hubby has just gone off for a drive out to get some local grown American sweetcorn, it is so tasty and at 25 pence each, and easy way to ensure we do our 1/3 super free.

Feeling super positive for Monday, our proper start date. It is so good to see how well everyone is doing and how supportive everyone is with each other x

Just it is superfree... I'm not sure if it's different fresh, but sweetcorn is usually just free.

  • Hi Everyone  hope you don't mind if I join in. I joined Slimming World last night. I've had a look at the plan and am hoping it will work well for me. I am a bit unsure what to have for breakfast but have seen lots of inspiration on this thread already.

You're right, sweetcorn is free not superfree.

jules, no problem eating the corn and enjoying it but if you are doing EE then it won't count as superfree. If I were you, I'd seriously think about some Green days and either syn any meat or keep the quantity of meat down to the HEX limit. On Green you don't have to worry about SFs.

Incidentally peas and most beans are not superfree either.

    :wave:welcome tracy
  • maman - it was worth a try eh!;). Oh well at least it is still free as we love the stuff!

With regard to green, red, and ee days. Is there a plan to follow of how many days of green/red/ee? Do they interchange, or is it just red and green that you swap? Is ee completely seperate?

    Thank you!
