Morning all!
Off to Asda today to stock up on sw essentials for EE so we can start officially on Monday. Any suggestions of things to keep in the house that are free or low syn, filling and tasty too. Have started to make a list as I want to be all prepared! Also is there anything that is not worth buying as it doesn't taste nice? I know everyones tastes are different but it'd be nice to have an idea.
Thank you!0 -
Hi lushlifesaver,
I had a look for you....
Dolmio low fat bolognese sauce 320g jar - 5.5 syns EE
Colman's Spaghetti bolognese mix - 7.5 syns EE
When you consider that you'd be sharing this, the syns would be really low
Thanks you! we've been using one of ASDAs own but we're trying not to go to ASDA at the minute as we always end up spending too much!
Will have a look for these in town today
Well done stefThe USA thing apparently you get a free week if your friend signs up too, well that was what shared in group. No big push on body magic for us though. I've done bronze and silver in very quick succession so I'm allowing myself a couple of week of maintaining silver a bit longer before moving on to gold.
today for me:
HeB- 2 slice wholemeal bread
HeA - milk again
B: 1slice of toast (1/2 HeB) banana
S: apple
L: homemade soup (1syn) 1slice of toast (other 1/2 HeB)
T: rice, mixed veg, grilled chicken and sauce made from golden veg cuppa soup - the sauce works out at 4 syns so I may leave it off actually
before bed: milk - maybe a hot choc
Waiting to get paid so I can get some more fruit in the house (and put some money by for buying groceries on holiday in October). Due to be paid by next Friday so fingers crossed tot's mum pays on time!************************************

Morning,
Welcome to the new people
Macpep- hope you're feeling better and they find out what is wrong quickly *hugs*
kjm - hope the extraction isn't too painful. Could you have some soup or mashed potato etc as a change from the porridge?
Smithyjules - I agree with what everyone else has said, you shouldn't feel hungry doing SW. Would your hubby have time for a more substantial breakfast, e.g. eggs on toast or bacon, or add fruit to the cereal? I know toast wouldn't keep me full for long, nor would weetabix alone, so I would have say poached eggs, toast and tomatoes or weetabix and a banana. I know you said you haven't got into the 1/3 superfree yet but if you are going to follow EE you should be having fruit or veg with every meal- part of the purpose of this is to naturally rreduce the amount of other foods consumed but the extra bulk also makes you feel fuller. Saying that, your other meals look fine, although I would say syns are there to be used!
I feel for you on the bread front - had unsliced seeded at MILs at the weekend and it was gooooood! I don't eat a lot of bread now but buy a small Hovis wholemeal and keep it in the freezer for toast. Tend to have more wholemeal pitta breads (1 for HEB) as they are just a bit more interesting. Re. milk- would you be able to wean your OH off FF milk, maybe dilute it a bit each day? I only say that as you don't get much as an allowance. We used to have semi but now get the 'orange' milk as it's hardly any different but you get 300ml as HEA - I measure it out in the mornings and take it to work then home again so I don't go over. Can't and won't do skimmed- have some at the moment as that was all that was in the shop and it's like cloudy water :rotfl: Good luck, and feel free to ask more questions!
EE for me today:
B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), raspberries
L: Pasta, roast veg, pesto (1), nectarine
T: Pork stroganoff (2), rice, cauli
S: Mullerlight
Have a good day all
Hello! Hubby will happily compromise and have semi-skimmed milk but he loves a drop of cream in his coffee so I thought on the days he isn't having cereal he could have ff in his coffee to his hearts content maybe (well to his WexA anyway).
Thank you for explaining the reasoning behind having fruit or veg with every meal, it makes more sense now lol. I had weetabix with a chopped banana the other morning and later realised I had made it to midday without feeling hungry which is a miracle for me as I am usually nibbling on my lunch from half 10 (in my defence I do have breakfast at 5am when the kids get up:eek:).
There are mornings when he does have time to cook a breakfast after the school run so he could have a banana and a yoghurt before he goes then cook when he gets back.
All things to consider when we go to do the shopping today.
So glad I finally plucked up the courage to join in now!0 -
Morning all,
Well done Shellie and Stef on your lossesI specifically didn't watch it as I feared I'd go out and eat the contents of the fridge if I did :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Same here! Although if it is easily adaptable to SW I will make a point of catching it on iplayer.stef240377 wrote: »Consultant asked my why i thought i had slowed down again this week so said it must be from just doing the 1/3rd superfree as last week was SE. Think there must have been a 'talking to' from head office as this week it was milk it for what its worth on the body magic front so got to dance more with the hoover then this week from the looks of it.
She did announce the new Hifi bar and looked at me sheepishly when i guessed the flavour lol:rotfl:just told her i have friends in high places (thats you lot if you hadnt guessed) and then the sauces book was passed around and for sale for £3.95.
What is the new flavour? Think I missed it being revealed on here when I was away!
Stef, are you ok with a pound loss? If so I think your leader has a bit of a cheek - 1lb a week is a perfectly normal and healthy loss, and we fluctuate from week to week anyway so it hasn't 'slowed down'. Personally I think she's talking tosh (or as you say, them upstairs have tightened the screws!)
Bit of a mixed up day for me foodwise- out for belated birthday drinks so am being 'good' but not following any particular plan. Sounds naughty but I'm confident I'll not be going over all in all, even including alcohol (hopefully!)
B: Bran flakes, raisins, banana, milk
L: Chicken sandwich (2x small slices wholemeal), minestrone cup a soup, nectarine, mullerlight
T: Nothing, or at most a slice of pizza
S: n x vodka & diet cokes, poss couple glasses of wine

Morning everyone
I've had hardly any sleep because of pain from my stupid teeth, feels a bit better this morning though. My food for today will be mainly porridge and soup I think :rotfl:.

The asda cheap noodles (something like 9 or 11p?) are good, we take out the flavour sachet because it is syns and shove a stock cube in because they are free! The asda cheap instant mash is good for making pizza bases, it is really bland so doesn't taste like potato which makes it perfect for pizza!
We stock up on things like muller lights, fruit, veg, mug shots, to snack on.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -

moorrrrrrrrrrrrrning!!!!:j:j ITS FRIDAYYYY!!!!!!!!!
ok so, SE shall start from either today or tomorrow (dependant on what i decide for dinner etc)... i ate my last 'fatty' treat last night so thats that
Bought fish and veggies galore at mr T so should be good for a week or two
I did go on a semi destructive shopping trip yesterday and ended up (along side all my SW stuff) a bag of variety snacksize bars and a bag of minstrels. The way i see it though, is that its there if i want it... and if i know its there, i wont want it. My old p.e teacher used to smoke and then gave up, but constantly kept a packet of ciggies by her bed incase she felt the urge, but because she knew they were there (and could have one if she REALLY wanted), she never felt the urge to... so im applying the strange logic in there lol:rotfl:
I missed nigella!! by the sounds of it though, it was a good ep?
Going to buy the new JK rowling book today, (had ordered it from the Ama*** website, but it hasnt even been dispatched so thats no good lol. shall go to mr T and pick it up at lunchtime
Yesterday i had no brekkie, but i had leek and broccoli soup with a slice of WM bread (no butter) and veggie soup for dinner along side a mango and some grapes. I DID have a mr T cookie so im calling that my syns used for the day alongside a cuppa
welcome to all the newbies that i might have missed btw
righteo... now to go do some work lolI'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know
On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!0 -
Lost the whatever it was that I put on last week so back down to where I was a couple of weeks ago - blah! Just following the same old pattern and getting really sick of it. Thinking that I might have to find something else as I really can't make this work for me.
Cooking day for me so off to make some soup, ragu, lachmajin (my SW take on Armenian pizza) and to roast a chicken and some potatoes for tonight.Mediterranean Mum
