Day 2 has been a bit mixed. I have had:

B - Alpen light (HEB) 2 light baby bels (HEA) and some strawberries
L - Smoked ham, spinach, cherry toms and an Alpen Light
D - Baked potatoes, tuna, sweetcorn and no fat dressing followed by papaya and lime

Syns - The tiniest piece of cake ever :)

Dinner took ages to make last night so I did not have time to make lunch and I was so unimpressed with the Bubble and Squeak that I didn't take the leftovers I had made with me. My lunch was therefore thrown together and no where near enough to stop me feeling hungry.

As others have said I think I will find some of the meal options too time intensive for every night so I need to start building up some recipes that are quick so I do not reach for the bread.

Been looking at the SW site and I go the magazine so that combined with the initial books have given me some good ideas. It was tough today not having seconds of cake or even a bigger slice but I am chuffed that I should restraint. Every crumb was savoured ;)

Well done Rummer on resisting the cake although you haven't had any other syns so you could have allowed yourself a decent slice rather than a crumb!

I'm not an expert on Red and Green days but your day today looks pretty much Red which means you could have had another HEA at lunchtime or counted your second Alpen Light as syns and had some bread with your lunch.

If you're on EE then you could have added some cooked pasta to your lunchtime salad to bulk it out. One thing I do is have a bag of WM pasta cooked up and in baggies in the fridge so that it's ready to add to salad. Same with hard-boiled eggs.

For those who are finding cooking/preparing meals an issue would it not be worth investing (if theres not already one lurking in the back of a cupboard) in a slow cooker? This time of year is ideal for one to spring in to action all you have to do is remember to turn it on!!!

Shellie thats a fantastic loss this week well done. x

Oh god, MedMum, that nigella programme!! DH wants to try the meatza and I loved the idea of that steak she did too! And the pasta!! And the egg in tomatoes! (let's just not mention the dessert! :rotfl:)

Well tbh, I was salivating more over the steak and the pasta than the dessert so SW is obviously working somewhere!
  • Welcome and good luck to your hubby. One of my oldest and closest friends has lost over 9st in the last year with SW. He's a big guy too and will never be thin but he's doing so well - still has a long way to go.

He stayed with us a month or so ago and I was completely astounded by the amount of food he eats. I cooked completely SW for him as I'm also following SW but he had double helpings of everything - I can't eat even half of one portion of what he eats. He's steadily lost between 2-4 lbs every week.

TBH looking at your menus it's no wonder your hubby is hungry - there's not a lot of food there for a big guy.

What he has every day is -

B - a huge fry up with eggs, toast, baked beans, tomatoes
L - a large tuna or chicken salad sometimes with some pasta thrown in to bulk it up
D - roast chicken and roast potatoes (SW of course); or spaghetti bolognese; or lasagne; or a big stew - all with loads of veg

He eats lots of fruit in between and when they were here he was eating ice cream so is also generous with his syns.

Good luck and well done you for helping him - you'll not regret it.

So true! When I actually read back what we'd eaten it's no surprise we were hungry! Think all the extra fruit etc will push the shopping budget up a bit but perhaps that will encourage me to get our lo toilet trained, then we'll have lots more money for yummy goodies!

Hi all, bit off a late posting for me but its been a busy day - bf and I went out to celebrate the anniversary of our first date haha.

B - Porridge (made with water) - HeB (winner! love porridge) and an apple
S - baked beans and scrambled egg
L/T - bf took me to an all you can eat Chinese so I had two plates of mains and a scoop of ice cream. Had a diet coke to dri
    before bed: warm milk -HeA

Haven't felt hungry since the Chinese and have planned my week to stay below 5 syns everyday apart from Saturday when I'm at a wedding (although its quite late on so don't plan on staying for more than an hour or so of the reception and have plans to eat once I'm home - not seen anyone that I may know there for over a year apart from the bride so will be easy to make my escape haha). Thinking that I should be ok to still see a loss with a few 5 syn days and mammoth dog/tot walking sessions :)

Edited to add: Anybody know of a low syn bolognese sauce I can buy? Bf is a picky eater and won't eat homemade and currently I don't have freezer space to make separate for each of us. I have access to Iceland, Co-Op, Lidl and Fultons. Because of bf it needs to be plain as possible *darn fussy boy* Thanks for any help you can give!

    Hi lushlifesaver,

I had a look for you....

Dolmio low fat bolognese sauce 320g jar - 5.5 syns EE
Colman's Spaghetti bolognese mix - 7.5 syns EE

When you consider that you'd be sharing this, the syns would be really low :)

Evening all, just in from WI and scoffing my tea down. I am 1lb lighter and son another 3lb off. He needs 1.5lb now for club 10 so that will easily be next week. Came back with another slimmer of the week basket so no need to buy fruit for the rest of the week.

Consultant asked my why i thought i had slowed down again this week so said it must be from just doing the 1/3rd superfree as last week was SE. Think there must have been a 'talking to' from head office as this week it was milk it for what its worth on the body magic front so got to dance more with the hoover then this week from the looks of it.
She did announce the new Hifi bar and looked at me sheepishly when i guessed the flavour lol:rotfl:just told her i have friends in high places (thats you lot if you hadnt guessed) and then the sauces book was passed around and for sale for £3.95.

Oh and the new hifi bars are running a promo in them when released for sale next week, its along the lines of charlie and the chocolate factory that you have to find a golden ticket to win high street vouchers. Head office are also asking members if they have friends/relatives in America they can get to sign up to the plan as it has plummeted over there despite having millions of pounds spent on getting it out there. If i remember rightly you have to tell the person to put your name forward when they join up and your name goes in a hat to win a cash amount so plug it to your hearts content.

See you all in the morning.
