I had my 3rd weigh in today, I've lost another 2lb and got Slimmer of the Month
:D
Probably TMI, but is anyone else feeling a bit constipated while on SW?
I thought I would be the opposite. I'm having porridge, weetabix, weetabix & scanbran or branflakes for breakfast...always with fruit. Plenty of fruit and veg during the day, 2 litres of water plus a few cups of black or green tea.
I do suffer from IBS, but I'm never constipated. I was thinking of buying some Fybogel to see if this helps??
Hi Kraftykat, today is my second weigh in and I've been having terrible problems too! I think I will get some fybogel as it's not a good feeling. Congratulations on your weight loss, it's nerve racking standing on those scales isn't it?! Xx0 -
Morning all,
Another dark, wet and windy day here today but oddly I'm feeling quite upbeat! Think it's because I've had a haircut and it's still in it's 'out of the salon' state (until I wash it and mess it up tonight!) so am swishing around while I can! Also, even though I feel like a greedy moo for eating so much on Monday, I am wearing clothes that only just fit last winter and are loose now, plus have applied for 2 new jobs and plucked up the courage to book a meeting with the boss tomorrow where I'm going to tell him I'm applying for other jobs and if he wants me to stay he'd better sort some stuff out here! Will try and put my confident hat on...
Am a bit late to the party with this one but re. Lidl and Aldi - we've started getting F&V (and other stuff) there in the last few weeks. Aldi was fine and kept well apart from the pineapple - started going a bit mouldy almost before it ripened. Got some bananas and another pineapple from Lidl last night so will see how that is but never had any problems with their produce - just need to choose well as some of their stuff looks a bit manky before you've taken them off the shelf. Like Maman, I think we'll be doing the bulk of shopping there and then getting the extras in Asda. Also Farmfoods and the like are good for Quorn and meat free stuff as well as fish and cooked frozen chicken pieces, although I buy Asda soya mince (always on at 2 for £3). Btw RFD, hope you're feeling better. You've had a rough year, be kind to yourself xshellieholly wrote: »Well funny you should say that.. I've just made some cheese and onion potato scones. Ooh they sound lovely, will give them a goferox_tigris wrote: »It's my consultant's last night tomorrow, she's retiring and we're getting a fill-in consultant until a new one takes over next year. It's a shame cos I joined this group because she was recommended. Anyway, we're all bringing in food tomorrow night, but I won't have much time after work to sort something. I just got a delivery of Joe's sausages so I think I'll just cook the chipolatas and put cocktail sticks in them a la kids parties when I was a young 'un. I've only been in group 4 weeks and not brought food before - will what I've got planned be ok?
That sounds fine to me, nibbly things are good at taster nights. Gotta love the Joes!I've done 2 classes and just weighed in tonight, probably could drink more and no not being careful about doing 1/3 free food, eating loads of fruit and vet,mug shots, backed pots, pasta twice a week, no flora or mayo etc.
Finding it pretty miserable actually lol
Aw, sorry to hear you aren't enjoying it. Are you varying your meals? Maybe get some inspiration from the magazines and on here. If you're doing EE then make sure you're having 1/3 superfree (not just free). Also, are you using your syns and eating enough? Syns are there to be used and help to make sure it isn't a miserable experience - if you don't enjoy it you won't want to carry it on! Good luck x
EE for me today:
B: Porridge (B), milk (A), fresh raspberries
L: Pasta, loads of roast veg, pesto (1), nectarine
T: Pork stroganoff (2), rice, cauliflower, asparagus
S: Mullerlight, choc mousse (3.5)

Weight loss - Apr '12 -Sept '13: 95lb0 -
I really struggled with EE, I found it difficult to get my 1/3 superfree every day as I'm a real veg person, not so much salad. So at breakfast and lunch I was never sure what to have. After a week I switched to mainly red and green days and it seems to be working better for me, I have the occasional extra easy if Im having curry or cottage pie for dinner but stick mostly to red and green, I use quorn in spag Bol etc so I can have a massive pile of pasta
haven't been doing it long though so I'm maybe not the best person to listen to. It may be worth a try if you don't feel you're losing enough on EE.

weighed on today,lost another 1lb
why is it such slow going? i syarted 3 wks ago. 1 1/lb, then 2 lots of 1lb
ive had no crisps, chocolate, cake, sweets etc so it obviously wasnt all that i was eating making me gain lol
My first couple of weeks I was a bit sad that other new starters were losing 4/5/6lbs in a week I only lost 1 or 1.5lb then suddenly on what felt like my worst weigh in ever (had myself so worked up and convinced I'd gained as it had been my birthday so we'd been out to York for a day and had a BBQ and cake) I lost a lot more. Sometimes it just seems to build up and drop off in one unexpected weigh in!
Make sure you are getting plenty of fluid and a bit of exercise and eating to plan and you will do well. And don't deny yourself spreads and sauces/chocs etc just remember to measure it if you need to (so mayo make sure its 1level tbsp etc) and count in your syns.
If you haven't been having any or many syns trying having a few more but still stay within the 15 - I always get a better loss when I've used a few more syns
So far today I've only managed to squeeze in an apple since I got up at 6.30! Way too hectic here, going to take the tot out for a walk and eat a bit more fruit before lunch time.
L: homemade soup (1syn per portion) with 1 slice of bread - 1/2HeB
s: banana and a cuppa
T: probs soup or pasta after group
Milk before bed with a slice of toast
Every weigh in day I feel bloated and nervous and work myself up - its just getting stupid nowWI tonight, praying for a 2lb loss!

When i started SW it was two weeks before joining a group because i wanted to see if my son could tell he were eating 'diet' food and over those weeks lost 9lb ish according to my home scales. Since joining though i hadnt until last week lost more than 1.5lb a week and had huge support from everyone on here saying i may be a slow loser and perhaps thats because it should stay off better when i reach to a target. I then went and lost 3lb last week making my first official stone loss since July because i followed success express.. I have been through the uncomfortable constipated stage - think that was 4 weeks in. So i 'went back to basics' grabbed a menu off the SW website followed it religiously, dropped back the fruit i ate and upped the veggies, swapped caffeine for decaf, drank buckets of sugar free fizzy water from Morrisons and felt a lot fresher by the next weigh in. All this depressed the pants off me as my son has steadily lost 3lb+ nearly every week, he has had 1 gain in all that time and he is a little get he doesnt stick to plan all week. For instance he made a victoria sponge in school last week and has eaten 6/8ths of it whilst trying to convince me someone must be getting into the house while im out to have it cos he hasnt been anywhere near. I sat and worked out the syns in it and it worked out at 11.5 per slice - god help us tomorrow when he brings home lemon meringue pie!!!!!
Back to todays meals im planning on having -
b, muesli, yogurt and an apple.
l,4 ryvita, 2 e.l. laughing cow, ham, lettuce, cucumber & tomato. banana.
t crustless quiche, jacket pot and salad.
Didnt get yesterdays brekkie that was preplaned as some tyke had pinched all my milk and the yogurt so gave up and went to Sainsburys and had a fry up so gave up my syns for that, rest of the day was on track.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

morning all
Its day 3 and i am still feeling motivated. I am really happy about this. I know it might be silly really but given how on & off i have been the past 6 months its a good sign
EE for me today -
Brekkie - Spag hoops with a slice of WM toast (not WW but a proper loaf of bread) Taking this as a HEX B as just once slice. 2 slices of turkey rashers.
Lunch - pasta n sauce with quorn & veg (again)
Dinner - chicken stirfry & noodles. will be making the SW chinese sauce
Snacks - 2 babybel light (hex a), blackberries, an apple, flump twist (1.5 syns), coconut hot choc (1.5 syns) and boiled spuds
Just wondering has anyone else got the takeaway booklet in this months mag? there are a couple of recipes i like the look of that i am certain would have syns but none mentioned? ( peking duck rolls springs to mind, and also a burger of some sort as well )??

I've always followed EE myself but just lately struggling a bit with planning in enough f & v. It's not that I don't enjoy them but we've been so busy with family things (mostly involving gifts and expensive meals out:eek:) that keeping on top of the shopping and having enough fresh food in has been an issue. It's times like that I want to fall back on the baked beans or frozen peas. I got thinking that next week maybe I'm going to do a food plan with a few Green days of minimal (synned) meat for me. That way I can help my budget and stop worrying about how to get SFs into breakfasts of cereal or beans or eggs. Work in progress!;)
Today's EE plan:
B: small juice, HEB toast, fried egg, baked beans, HEA milk for teas
L: LO sausage casserole (minus sausage!)spaghetti bolognese
Syns: juice and maybe sprinkle of parmesan0 -
Morning all,
I had a real wobble yesterday. I just had one of those really hungry and never satisfied days.
I decided to have a green day so I could fill up on carbs and not worry too much about the 1/3 superfree but by night time I was craving sweet stuff so badly and a mullerlight wouldn't cut it. I knew there was a tub of B&J ice cream in the back kitchen freezer and it's all I could think about so in the end I gave in and had a small bowl of it. From the syns calculator I think I had about 6 or 7 syns worth.
So all in all yesterday was an unsatisfactory day and I prob ate 20 synsas I had some space raider crisps and a few of DDs nachos
However onward & upward today - have had 35g all bran (HEB) with a mullerlight + a banana for breakfast and have been snacking on cherry tomatoes;
Lunch will be HM lentil soup followed by a pear and a banana
Dinner - think I'll make OH & kids sausage casserole and make a pasta bake with bacon & cheese (HEA) for me cos I'm not a great fan of sausages
Hope everyone's well and staying safe in the incliment weather. xxx
ETA - I quite often don't use many of syns so I wondered about allowing myself the whole tub of ice cream over the week (55 syns ) and when it's gone it's gone. So if I have a wee bit every night it will last longer or if I trough it all on the monday night that's my syns gone for the week. Hmmm, one to ponderMortgage Aug 22 £280,000

I did slimming world a few years ago + stopped going to group but am thinking about starting again but I am breastfeeding at the moment & just wondered if anyone knows if & how I can do sw while bf (little one is just 6 months old so I am not putting pressure on myself to lose babyweight too soon!0
