  • The way I understood it was that 2 ryvitas give you fibre and are a speed food as the portion is smaller whilst 4 is one full portion and an even higher amount of fibre

the risotto had peas, leeks, onions, celery and mushrooms in too

the ryvita were the dark rye... confused on them, the directory gives the grab and go 'B's

    2 ryvita dark rye/original (f s)
    4 ryvita dark rye/original (ff)

so the S is speed and the F high and FF extra high fibre.. just wondering why its different amounts

    if that makes sense? :)
The way i am led to believe things to be from my group is that you still need to have 1/3rd of the plate covered even if there are sfs within a meal to ensure you are getting the correct balance.
Dark rye ryvitas are 1.5 syns each.

At least either meal planning in advance or keeping a food diary as you go will help identify where you may be slipping up and not losing as much as you may of hoped for. If you are a group member check out the online food diary section as it will give you more ideas on HEBS and HEAS with weights. You can also check out the sample menus so you can see how to balance your day until you get back on track.

Hi, I'm thinking of stopping going to sw
I find it a real drag going for weigh in and never stay anymore
Haven't been going that long, and have lost steadily, 1 or 1/2 a week but its just so slow hard going
I don't really follow it that's my trouble and I'm really losing by having a mugshot for lunch instead of bread and eating fruit all evening instead of crisps!
So not sure why I'm paying every week?
Will I lose the motivation if I stop going as I have the books and tips now
I've eaten normally this week and put on 3 lb by my scales and that's by just not being hungry

Hi hmc sorry to feel you hear that way but if you aren't happy paying you could stop going to group but weigh yourself (at home or a local chemist/similar) and hang about on here with us to get additional support with trying to lose weight with SW :)

    Morning all,

B:toasted roll, baked beans, 2 poached eggs followed by an apple, banana and orange
    L:homemade soup (1syn)
    T: spag bol (5syns)

    snacks: fruit, advent choc (1syn)
    HeB: roll above
    HeA: 250ml semi skimmed milk

    so 7syns total :)

Will be in and out periodically if anyone is about and in need of anything as tot isn't very well so may well end up going home!

    Morning all,

Back from a lovely weekend at my friend's - Scotland was COLD though! Got WI tonight and didn't peek this morning but hoping for at least 2lb as have been super good this week, double checking syn values instead of just doing it from memory and everything I had while away was SW friendly (wine was synned!)
How does everyone's consultant do image therapy? Mine just goes through everyone saying something like 'xxx has a weightloss of xstxlbs this week...[everyone claps]...xxx are you ok with this loss/gain...anything you need help with for this week?' and then moves on to the next. Boring and exhausting when almost, if not more, 30 people stay to group and another 30 have left so she has to skip over all of them. Before starting I had thought that image therapy would be more support; recipe swapping and tips between members etc. I stay because sometimes I may get something out of it but often I don't and once I get to target I will go maybe once a month to keep my life line online going. I'll then get some scales and calibrate them as close as I can to the SW ones.

I stay pretty much every week- at first it was because I thought I should but I actually find it really helpful and a good laugh as well now. Ours is pretty much as you describe if it's busy but there were only about 10 or 12 people last week- I prefer it quiet as get to have more discussions about things, e.g. last week one lady was saying how she felt really guilty whenever she felt like she'd been 'bad', and beat herself up over it. The consultant asked if anyone else ever felt like that, a few of us said yes and she asked how we get over it, which was useful for both realising that lots of us are in the same boat and also how to deal with it. We do swap recipes as well, although mainly between ourselves while we're waiting for it to start. There are often one or two people who tend to dominate a bit and take up more of the group time than others, which is fine if it helps, but one lady in particular is a bit pathetic and moans that she can't do it for x, y & z reasons, so when people try and help it's 'oh I can't do that because...' - really annoying and wonder why she bothers coming. Anyway, overall I enjoy it, even if it is just going through losses etc. as there's always a laugh to be had - I defy anyone to keep a straight face in a roomful of raucous middle-aged Scouse women! :rotfl:

Having a green day today and considering whether to try an advent calendar chocolate (free from a rep and it's only the size of a DVD case so chocs probably tiny)- got 3 to have although will be giving the others away. Might try one and see what the chocolate's like, if it's rubbish I won't be having any more!

    B: Omelette, low low slice (1/2 B), pitta (B), milk (A)
L: Pasta, roast veg, clementine, Hifi light (1/2 B)
T: TBC - probably potato based
S: Advent calendar choc? Sweeties after WI :)

    Have a good day/week folks :)

  • Has anyone used homemade bread as a healthy extra? just thinking of making some wholemeal rolls to use - would 60g of dough make a 60g roll? - probably one of my usual blonde questions!

Just thought I would ask :)
