    Morning all :D
Didn't do too badly yesterday but really need to do a biggish shop so I can really get into the swing of things :D

    Soo here's where I'm asking for help.........again:o

I have decided to do an online shop with the aim of being less tempted by goodies, what I need is some advise on what I should be buying other than the usual meet, potatoes, fruit and veg.
It would be great to get some tips on free or low syn foods that are good for snacking, treats, breakfasts and convenience! I've obviously got to get out of the habit of snacking on slices of toast

Any help would be great, thanks guys :T
    Vix x

dont know if its been said but i live for mullerlights. i have two a day:D
be careful with your synning tho - greek ones are half a syn and some flavours are half a syn too. i stick to strawberry ones as i know that they are free. some good advice - someone said when i started a couple of months ago - just google it - and im amazed its all on there.

bread is a once a day thing. my big problem was cereal. massive pasta bowls full of corn flakes and sugar and sometimes three times a day. millions on syns. now i have one small bowl for breakfast and i dont miss it and im saving a fortune. i was always running out of milk and cereal.

minimins?? has some wonderful slimming world forums. when i find a good page i put it on my favourites until i have read it.

there is so much help out there. a couple of months ago i knew nothing now i have a lot to learn but have a real good understanding of food optomising

    good luck:)

I am not too keen on many types of veg, the only ones I LIKE are Carrots peas corn beetroot tomatoes and lettuce. Frozen mixed veg (cauli broccoli carrots green beans)
Am I ok with barley lentils beans and split peas?
    Thanks a million Wizkid1

That's probably enough veg to get you by. The peas and corn aren't SF but you can still have them, they just don't count to your third SF. I know frozen veg is quicker (and often cheaper) but you could buy all the things in there fresh to have a decent size portion.

On the snacking deas: I like FF cottage cheese with a chopped apple, seems more filling spooned out of a dish. Another favourite is red fruits (sold for Summer puddings in Aldi or Asda) with some sweetener and thick 0% Greek yogurt, all stirred up to make it pink. Yummy!

    Be back soon shellie.
  • Quiet morning in here!

Bf is back and I managed to get today off so sofa day for us, so far all I've eaten is a WW yogurt and I really couldn't be less fussed about food today! Really need to get motivated and get something decent inside me...perhaps today will have to start after lunch

Hope everyone is having more successful mornings!

I am always ready for food but always the wrong kind. Vegetables I could do without but I know they are healthy and necessary. But, tell me, do I have to have SF VEG at every meal ? I hope not. I do have plenty of fruit.
Thanks to all who have answered my pleas.
  • Some people do stick to the 1/3rd superfree with every meal and others do it across the day - I tend to go with extra fruit at breakfast and for snacking and then go the whole way with loads of superfree with my evening meal. Hope that helps a bit, I don't think there is strictly a right or wrong way to do it as different ways work for different people
