  • Afternoon all,

Having a day 'off' today; toasted wholemeal roll and light philly (HeB+1/2 HeA), will try and snack on fruit shortly, Chinese for tea -BF's birthday and now he wants to stay in and order from our fave take out rather than drive to a chinese buffet = win! And then birthday cake (I've made it, choc cake sandwiched with jam and vanilla buttercream covered in choc buttercream with kit kats round the edge and the top filled with m&ms - search m&m bucket cake on google, its ace!)

Truth be told I am in no way hungry, damn cold but i ate my toast and philly for lunch cos bf was concerned about me and i will eat the chinese. The cake I may have half a slice. I've accounted for it in flexisyns the past few days and will still limit syns till Wednesday for it. Only want half off this week (any more will be a win) anyway

    Hello Slim people!:)

Can I ask a daft question please which my poor old brain can't answer.

I bought a couple of SW recipe books in a charity shop today and they are Green and Original menus whereas I do EE.

There are some nice recipes though and I want to know how I calculate how they are on EE. Hope this makes sense and thanks.

I presume you would do it the way you do for any recipe (SW or non-SW). Look at the ingredients and syn as appropriate then add all syns up and divide by the number of portions you get from it

Hi everyone hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Had a rough couple of days where no matter what i have eaten - all on plan, seems to have satisfied. Gave into temptation with a few crackers and cheese on friday night and shockingly i stayed within syns. Again yesterday i did some baking for a close friend, mince pies, triple choc muffins, crumble and ginger cake and was desperatly trying to avoid snacking on any so sent hubby out to delivery it all while it were still cooling down so it were banished away.
Have been logging food down on online diary so if need be i can write it all out to take to group this week. Hoping a heartier breakfast and a good roast will help today.

    Todays meals,
B, SW fry up - bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms and toms.
    s, Banana.
L, Roast chicken, roast parsnips, roast pots, boiled pots, cauli and broccoli.
T, LO chicken and salad sandwiches followed by fruit, hm meringue and squirty cream (2 syns for cream)

AFAIK the only difference woud be if double HEXs had been used as part of the recipes rather than being synned, like if a recipe had 2 x HEX of cheese. That's because you can have extra HEXs on green and red but not on EE. Anyway recipes usually say 'add x syns if not using cheese as a HEX' so you'd be aware of that. Also, as two thirds SF is only a requirement of EE (although advisable for red and green too) then you'd have to make sure your side dishes or fruit snacks brought your SFs up to the right level if not enough in the recipe.

Visitors just left. I'm feeling bloated and tired. Food has been fairly SW friendly but far too many wine syns consumed!:o Seriously back on the wagon now.
  • Just a quick one, anybody got a recipe for chicken and sweetcorn soup? or chicken noodle soup - fancy trying some when bf goes away for a week and we have tons of chuk in the freezer that I want to start using up

1 small onion, peeled and finely diced
1 carrot, peeled and finely diced
    2 celery sticks, finely diced
    1 garlic clove, finely diced
    1.5ltr/2.5pint of chicken stock.
397g/14oz chicken breast or thigh finely chopped
57g/2oz dried vermicelli pasta or thin egg noodles
4 tbsp chopped flat leaf parsley

Place the onion, carrot, celery, garlic, stock and chiken in a large saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and cook for 10-15 mins.
Add the pasta or egg noodles and bring back to the boil. Cover, reduce heat to low and cook gently for 6-8 mins.
Add parsley and cook for 2-3 mins until piping hot. Ladel and serve immediately.

Thanks Maman. I've just been going through a pile of SW mags and towards the back of the mag they always put a page which covers all the recipes. They say how many syns are in them for Green and Original and also EE. I notice on all the savory meals they come out as FREE or an odd syn on EE.
