    Have a good weekend Blodwen.

WI for me today and I lost 1.5lbs so I'm back where I like to be at the bottom of my target range. So DH's concerns about my big bum were hugely exaggerated!:rotfl:

I've got people coming for the weekend so need to do my meal plan and shop later. Visitors are quite fussy, plain eaters. I'm thinking a couple of SW friendly casserole things and some decent breakfasts, need to think up some light lunches that don't involve much work or bread or crisps!

Good luck for anyone else contemplating the scales.:)

Just having a variation on the rice pudding idea-warmed up cooked rice, a chopped banana and some Quark mixed with a sachet of Options (made up the whole tub with one sachet and am saving half of mixture for afternoon snack) - it's very nice, much prefer it to yesterday's concoction.

Also made a huge paella last night - made 8 good portions so I have frozen 5. Realised I only had 100g paella rice so had to make it up with risotto rice, but didn't have quite enough of that either so there's a bit of pudding rice in there too- didn't seem to do it any harm though! :rotfl:

I'll try all the rice pud variations I think!

Re rice types - I think the 'round' rice varieties are all much of a muchness. I always buy risotto rice for risotto and pudding rice for pud but I think you can substitute one for the other. I bet if they were in glass jars without labels you couldn't tell the difference!
  • Not having a great day today. I haven't written anything down but amongst the carp today has been a jumbo snack a jack, a meringue nest, a Muffin Break cappuccino and half a strawberry choc chip muffin

Made what I thought would be a lovely SW tea - tagliatelle with half a tin of Tesco ratatouille. Revolting. I remember ratatouille (even the tinned stuff) being lovely chunky courgette and aubergine in a tasty spicy tomato sauce. My mouth was watering! I had one mouthful and binned the lot. Mushy veg and tasteless tom sauce. Bleurgh. I'll make my own the next time!

I've got a huge yellow sticker bag of toms and loads of garlic so I'll make a batch of pasta sauce tomorrow. And get back on track!!

  • Tot has infected me with his cold and I feel ROUGH, is there anything I can have that's not sneaky syns (throat sweets etc) alongside my cold and flu tablets?

Won't let it derail my good few days or bfs birthday tomorrow though!
    today:
b: beans on toasted roll (HeB) with 1 egg scrambled
    s: fruit
L: ravioli - 1.5syns for the whole tin = win!
    s: fruit
t: gammon, jacket potato, beans and veggies!

    HeB: 60g wholemeal roll
    HeA: milk

Have loads of fruit suddenly that needs using so I'm making myself eat that as I hate to waste any as I paid for it!

Yesterday I was out at training for my new job, took bananas and pack of grapes and melon chunks as I didn't know what food would be provided...good thing i did! Lunch was just sandwiches and crisps - at the filling of a ham salad sandwich (quality ham, yay) and a quarter of a tun sandwich on wholemeal then abandoned their food for my own, had shreddies (HeB) and milk (1/2 HeA) for brekkie and tea after the gym was chicken and rice so all in all a relatively low syn day!

Going to use todays HeA in tea and leave it as 1.5 for the day as tomorrow we are going for a Chinese for bfs birthday and I plan to enjoy it! (lost 3.5lbs the week we last went to this place!)

  • Lush - when I was last signed up to SW, my old consultant told a member who had a cold not to worry about syns, just concentrate on looking after yourself so if you need throat sweets just have them!
