    Morning all.

Well last nights WI saw only 7 people stay to group and one of those was a newbie. Speaking to consultant she now believes the drop in numbers are to do with another group opening up on opposite side of town at same time. She said she wants to appeal to HO to see if they will allow her to change the times of the group as it seems to be on of the factors thats now affecting numbers staying to group as opposed to just turning up and going.
Helped her clear up afterwards and was asked what i thought of the make up of group as a whole so went for it - stated what many on here have also said - its monotonous going through the who's lost/gained etc and there needs to be more focus on helping those who are struggling to loose/maintain. Those who genuinely dont realise they are sabotaging their progress because they no longer check syn values or HE's quantities etc. So it looks like its given some food for thought and may alter the image therapy for next week. Lets just hope a few more stay behind!

No meal ideas as of yet as daughter has day of work and no doubt will want to go somewhere later on so will play it by ear today.

Good luck to all those heading to the scales today.

  • Hi all.
I don't post much but I always read everyones comments and i just wanted to say thank you to you all, your really are an inspiring bunch.
I am supporting my dh who has a lot to loose, we didn't have scales for the first few weeks but since we got some he has lost 5lb and 2inches off his chest and tum.he is over the moon!he no longer feels starved half the time after we followed advice on here and it seems sw is working fab for us as a family.we are all eating much more fruit and veg, better meals and our 5 year old dd has been cheering daddy on for being healthy!

We had a sneaky dominoes a few weeks ago and felt awful after...just wasn't worth it for the stodgy feeling after and that was a shock!

Anyhow thanks to one and all!happy slimming!xx

Good for you for speaking up Stef. I made similar comments and left it in the Suggestion Box (weeks ago) but we still have a terrible lot of people not bothering to stay behind. I am one of them now, haven't stayed for ages. I think if 10 people stay out of about 60+ who weigh in, then that's top whack at ours.

I wonder if the top people at SW know that this is such a problem? I would willingly stay behind if it was worth staying to. I just find it boring, negative, repetative and a waste of time. I hear that some consultants make a real effort to ensure the Image Therapy sessions are fun and informative. My cousin has never NOT stayed to hers because she says that's what makes her group so good.

Even the newbies at our group seem to stay just once or twice. I stuck it out for several months.
  • Yesterday was
    B - cherry muller
L - lean bacon and scrambled egg
D - tomato pasta in sauce

Need to go shopping but can't go until tomorrow....

    Today
    B - nothing
L - have a sweet and sour mug shot to try or might have a bacon sarnie on wholemeal
D - minty turkey salad and rice
  • I don't stay at group very often but that's more because I've either got things to do or I'm on earlies (alarm clock goes off at 4am for these shifts!). I did stay last week and enjoyed it, and would like to stay more as it does give me ideas and inspiration.

ETA: My last consultant had loads of people staying in all her groups but her image therapy was pretty interesting most weeks, and that does make such a difference.

I have spoken to loads of people while we're waiting to be weighed in and they all say they won't stay to group because it's boring. You are lucky to have such a good consultant. I'd far rather my £4.95 included an interesting session rather than driving a 20 mile round trip just to stand on the scales.:(

I stay for our Image Therapy session when I can but it's mainly to hear the comments/tips from other group members rather than anything inspiring from our consultant. It's the same while everyone's being weighed, we all talk together about our week and pass on ideas. Maybe I'm lucky in that we've got a lovely group of people there who seem to get on well. I compare it to all the useless training courses I used to get sent on with work. I almost always learned more from other people on the course than from the trainer!:rotfl:

We've got visitors coming shortly for the weekend. Have prepped everything for our meals. Mains are SW friendly but puddings a bit flexi (done nursery stuff to please my DH). Plenty of time next week to redress the balance.

That was my old consultant.... her groups are about 30 minutes away since i moved so I go to one closer. The week I stayed, she was 'starting again' with everyone and trying to get us motivated. I'm not too sure but I'll stay again maybe next week and see what it's like normally.

Having said that, it's more motivation for me to go and stand on the scales at SW than it is trying to do it on my own. There is still some support that way at least :)

Ok, it's not SW but when I was at WW I always stayed at class as it was totally 'me time', i.e. no hubby or kids. The class leader was fantastic too, really inspirational and interested in everybody in the room - there used to be at least 30 people staying behind. Then she left and we got a new leader and numbers quickly tailed off. She only talked about herself - that's not what we were there for. Class should be about the members not the class leaders.

The SW class I joined didn't half go on - every single WI was announced. I didn't and won't get a chance to go home first and we were in there for almost 2 hours. I know it was longer as it was my first night but one of the other ladies who I got talking to said she never stays as it lasts too long - 90 minutes on a good night. I think I'm going to be a 'weigh and go' member!

    WI and 2.5 off! :j:beer:

made more of an effort to watch what I ate this week, I've made sure to try and add in more veg too and i've changed my weekly lunchtime meals out. theres a great vegetarian cafe round the corner from work that does brill soups for £1.95 or a meal for £3.95. much cheaper than going to the coffee shops and i daresay is much healthier too and is proper food and probably much lower in syns! also went to a deli and got a big salad and jacket potato one day too!
