  • I found the SW chips to be a massive disappointment! Then didn't crisp up or brown, not too bad though we tried them and didn't like them so we will be sticking with jacket potatoes as those I have mastered :)

Zumba was fantastic last night but the 45mins went far too quickly for my liking, could of stayed there another 45mins I think!

not entirely sure what today looks like apart from cottage pie for tea...hopefully I'll get some ideas/inspiration soon.

    Hoping everyone has good days

This is the recipe I like http://www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/chicken-curry.aspx I double it though to make enough for 2 greedy adults and 4 very greedy children.

Right I'm off for a nice long dog walk now to stop me from eating anything, no self control at the moment!

    That sounds lovely, thanks! :)

Well, I didn't lose the much needed pound. Stayed the same.

Bought the new SW mag and there are some lovely recipes in there and also some very inspirational stories this time.

I can see our group soon stopping the Image Therapy sessions. People staying is now down to less than 10 out of around 65 people weighing in. That's really bad and people who used to stay don't bother anymore. It is such a shame and I'm just hoping the consultant will realise that this needs looking at before people stop coming altogether.

I love the whole SW eating plan, the mags, the recipes and chatting to other members during weigh-in but then the place just empties. :(

Sorry to hear you're disappointed. Re. image therapy- there were only about 10 who stayed to ours this week as well, out of about 60. There's normally 15-20 but it was half term, which probably accounted for the drop. It's a difficult one, because our class is really good, as is the leader (well IMO anyway) and I'm not sure what else she can do to get people to stay. I think a lot of people who go haven't stuck to it and a lot of others have kids to get home to etc but it is a shame as I find the discussions really good and we do have a right old laugh as well. If it's your consultant that is the problem then she or SW need to sort it out as they can't stop offering image therapy, it's what we pay for even if we don't use it and I can imagine head office would go mental!

In group we were advised that the mesh trays from either the pound shop or home bargains were the best for making chips/wedges on. I have found wedges cook better but to be honest we have had chips/wedges about 4 times since starting SW and they no longer bother me i can take or leave them.

Yeah I use the mesh tray (on top of a baking tray to catch drips) - my mum got me it ages ago so have been using it since before I started SW, and I do chips about once a week (usually on OH's request!). I peel and slice the spuds, rinse them then put them in the microwave in one of those containers where you open the holes in the lid with a tiny bit of water for about 5 mins on high. They are 90% cooked by this point so the oven is just to brown and crisp them - spray them and cook them on the mesh tray on 200 for about 15 mins, turning halfway through.

That also reminds me, I made the onion rings on Tues as mentioned in our class - raw slices dipped in egg then coated in a mix of mash powder, garlic powder and a little tex mex seasoning. Had to double dip a few if the mix didn't stay on but have to say they were fab. OH's only complaint was that I didn't do enough so will need to do the whole onion next time! Am planning to buy another mesh tray for those as they do take up a lot of space and stick a little.

Anyone got any nice weekend plans? Going to my parents' tomorrow til Sun which should be nice and relaxing. My mum is on SW as well so meals have already been planned and she has stocked up on bacon for our (more my OH's) arrival :rotfl:

    Green today:
    B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
    L: Cheese mugshot (3), 2 x satsumas
T: Pasta, red pesto (2.5), roast veg, cheese (A)
    S: 2 x alpen light (B), Freddo (5)

Have a good Friday and a great weekend folks! :)

Oh I love slimming world chips but then I have always made them that way, even before I was doing slimming world. I do them the same way as Pennylane, in fact I had them last night - ham, egg and chips :)

Today is day 4 of 100% and the food plan is:

    B - Shreddies, milk and banana (a&b)
L - Superspeed soup from the freezer
    D - Fishpie and veg
Will probably have a big bowl of fruit and a muller light in the evening.

My 11 year old gets home from his france trip at about midnight tonight, can't wait to see him :j

Those onion rings sound gorgeous.... shame my OH hates onions!

I'm off home for a halloween party tomorrow, and meeting my cousins for a roast on sunday :) Not sure how well SW is going to go at the party, but my plan is to remain syn free during the day and not worry too much in the evening.... pile up my plate with veggies on sunday and avoid too many roast potatoes and yorkshire puds (which are my favourite part!).

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

  • Hello lovely ladies - I have been awol for a few months...

I stopped going to class about 3 months ago and fell away from this lovely thread - but thankfully I did not get too much off track!! I have managed to reach my target weight - I weighed myself this morning and was 10st 7lb.. which i am delighted at!! I really wish now that I had of stuck with class - so I could attend for free now - as I feel i need the support to keep motivated!!

My little girl is almost 6 months now - my Maternity leave finished yesterday and I am now officially on unpaid leave ( i live in NI but work in the republic - so only get 26 weeks maternity :()

My OH is taking me and the 2 girls away for halloween - 3 nights in a hotel (B&B and evening meal) so I plan on making the most of the food when I am gone - I will try to be good'ish - but feel after my maternity leave I deserve a nice treat!!

So I intend on getting back to plan 100% next week.. For all the newbies - It is a great plan.... I put on 3 stone when I was pregnant and I am now half a stone lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight!!! Although I am dreading the thought of returning to work - part of me is proud of me for returning feeling good about my weightloss!! I am looking forward to getting my first pay to buy some well needed new clothes!

So have a good weekend everyone and I will catch up with you all after halloween!! Going now to read through this thread... and get some motivation!! xxx

  • This may sound awful but I was so thankful when the tot got picked up today! May the man who invented Starbucks VIA be praised- drinking a cup in my Starbucks mug (both birthday presents) to unwind ^.^

Have made tea, cottage pie (extra veggies in mine) and that works out at about 6syns. Just about to have a pineapple lolly to put me on.

The boy is really stressed/upset about a pcn issue so hasn't called me on the way back from training :( upsetting as I like hearing from him when he's heading back, it worries me when the phone just rings through to voicemail! and slightly annoying as I don't know what time to expect him home! bah

My eldest son has brought back a ton of chocolate and goats cheese from France, I am going to have to stay well away if I want a loss on Tuesday! It's also half term now so I will need to get some extra walking in because I won't be doing the 6 miles a day school run. The bruises are slowly going so might be able to do some hula hooping today!

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Hello all :hello: well done to all the losers and hugs to those in need :A. Good luck with chocolate avoidance kj, its my downfall at the moment :o.
My week hasn't been brilliant as still not back on track appetite wise. Went to quiz & chips last night and ate rubbish also * week so fully expected a gain today. Had WI with a loss of .8lb though  bit gobsmacked but if I keep eating the way I have been I KNOW it will catch up with me :o. So as it stands I am 4lb UNDER target so must try harder :D.
Am off to watch son play [water] rugby in a bit, its torrential rain at present so doesn't bode well for standing on the touch line _pale_

    Keep the faith all :A:A

Just to say very well done to watchitm8 [all 3] amazing all round statistics there

Re the rugby - sheeting hail/sleet/rain the entire match = frozen me even though I had loads of layers on - leggings, jeans, base layer [sons warm shirt], polar necked jumper, thick long cardie, duffle coat, scarf, woolly hat, gloves AND a rain coat over the top oh and not forgetting thick woolly socks and huge walking boots. Poor son [& rest of team] looked like drown rats covered in so much mud you couldn't tell who was who. Never been so glad to get in the car and blast the heater on ;-)
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
