This is the recipe I like http://www.slimmingworld.com/recipes/chicken-curry.aspx I double it though to make enough for 2 greedy adults and 4 very greedy children.

Right I'm off for a nice long dog walk now to stop me from eating anything, no self control at the moment!

  • Afternoon all, Having a fairly good day so far although I may have developed a mild addiction to poached eggs :/

    B: 2 poached eggs
    S: pineapple lolly
    L: 2 poached eggs and wholemeal toast(HeB)
    S: banana and satsuma
T: gammon and SW chips with veggies - never made the chips before so hoping they go ok!

HeA: probs milk as the stuff in the fridge needs using

I've got my first zumba class at 5.30 so quite excited to see how that goes! Hope everyone is having a good day:)

Well, I didn't lose the much needed pound. Stayed the same.

Bought the new SW mag and there are some lovely recipes in there and also some very inspirational stories this time.

I can see our group soon stopping the Image Therapy sessions. People staying is now down to less than 10 out of around 65 people weighing in. That's really bad and people who used to stay don't bother anymore. It is such a shame and I'm just hoping the consultant will realise that this needs looking at before people stop coming altogether.

I love the whole SW eating plan, the mags, the recipes and chatting to other members during weigh-in but then the place just empties. :(

I've never quite mastered SW chips either. To be honest I've stopped making them since I got to target and have (very rarely) McCain's rustic chips instead as they're fairly low syn. I'd rather do sliced, fried potatoes or roasties as they work every time.

Interesting discussions about the curries. I'm not a fan of creamy curry at all. I use a slightly adapted WW recipe using passata as the base rather than yogurt.

Evening all, not long got in from SW and had weekly weigh in. Was shocked to see a 1.5lb loss this week as my home scales were showing a gain - cant see how when i have been 100% on plan and eveything is syned/weighed out. Anyhow my son lost a further 5lb this week, was SOTW again and gained his 2 stone award - just 3lb to the next milestone.:j
Picked up a packet of the berry bakewell hifi bars and they are far too sweet for me and i literally had a nibble of my sons so unless he wants them as a treat i wont be bothering with those ones.

Hope everyone is fine and coping ok now the weather is really starting to turn chilly.

My lot all love SW chips and I now have them off to a fine art.
I believe the trick is to make sure the oven and tray are both very hot and that the tray is well sprayed with Frylite. I usually have my oven on 220C. Spray the par-boiled chips before putting them in the tray and give them a few shakes every 10 mins or so. Mine usually take 25-30 mins. Hope this helps.
  • I never par-boil my sw chips, I don't peel them either...just slice them , put them on a frylighted baking tray, then spray the top of the chips. I cook mine at 180 degrees.

The baby new potatoes are gorgeous cooked like this too, but sprinkled with chilli flakes before baking...yum yum :D

In group we were advised that the mesh trays from either the pound shop or home bargains were the best for making chips/wedges on. I have found wedges cook better but to be honest we have had chips/wedges about 4 times since starting SW and they no longer bother me i can take or leave them.

  • I've found they have to be on a high heat, about 220-225 and on a baking tray... i once had them in a roasting tray by accident and they took forever!!! even my OH likes them :)
