Had a busy morning - have cleaned right through, been to the supermarket and walked the dog.

Spent £51 in tescos but I decided to do a big shop to use a voucher and bought double dog food, enough main meals for 2 weeks and stocked up on toiletries a bit. Loads of F&V and only 2 treats.

Going to have a go at putting the bed together this afternoon so at least some of the mess can be tidied up and the bed can be remade. Hmmm, not sure whether I'll manage it but I'll have a go.
Then its another long dog walk and some ironing to finish off the wardrobe rejig and tidy. It looks much better now and I can actually see what I have. Just the single full length wardrobe to go (where all the summer frocks are) but that can wait for now. I dropped off the unwanted stuff at the charity shop this morning along with a bag of hangers that were just in the way.

Just having a little rest and then I'm off to tackle the bed.....

Kitty - pet food is so expensive isn't it? I must spend around £5-6 a week not including the big bag of dry food from Pets at Home that I buy about once a month. The shame is that he'll eat absolutely anything (spag bol, curry, even sandwiches!) so it would be cheaper to feed him as a person! (Might kill him though!)

    Hi All

Good for you doing all the DIY WW - very hard when you are doing it on your own. Well done :)

Kitty - Does you good to have a lazy day doesnt it although I have had one or two too many of them lately!

Ive had a busy morning, met my friend in town and we did the market etc and went for a coffee, except we had a breakfast too. I tried not to spend too much though by the time I had bought petrol and the odd bit of food and toiletries here and there I did spend quite a bit.

This afternoon have just lazed around watching the odd bit on the sky box. Tomorrow I really need to get up early and get cracking both in and outside the house. Could do with some of your energy and determination WW. Just email some over please !

Have a pleasant evening Grippers x

WW well done on putting the bed together - did you sleep in it last night to try it out? ;)

I am envious of your 1lb loss ... I put 2lb on this week, but I am going to put that down to resting my leg and antibiotics (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it :p ... nothing to do with the massive easter egg that was waiting for me on my desk when I returned to work on tuesday which I scoffed all in one day !! :o)

Not sure what happened to the heatwave they were predicting. It rained all day yesterday so I didnt do much. Today is dry and windy so the washing machine is on and I've had a quick tidy round. I am hoping to get a coat of paint on the hallway today.

DS has a bit of a dilemma with his new job. He starts in June, £14k a year, career progression and possible sponsorship to do a degree, high future earnings potential (IT job) reasonable hours and he can still do his hobbies field gun (which he loves) and martial arts. Hes now heard back from the police inviting him to interview for a PCSO job, unsociable shifts, no career progression, will probably have to give up hobbies, but £20-24000 a year !!! (plus unsociable shift allowance) At age 17 he wants a social life / hobbies but hes having trouble deciding... mainly because of the money. He doesnt know whether to withdraw his application for pcso and apply for police specials instead (volunteer police officer- can't apply for both at same time) to run alongside his IT job and then apply for police officer in a few years time. So we were up until the early hours discussing pros and cons and I dont think its going to be an easy decision for him.

OOps sorry to have gone on a bit :o hope you all have a good day x

Skint - its is a dilemma isn't it. I think if it were me I'd stay with the job and go for the specials. In this economy I'm not sure how secure PCSO positions are, they may be the easy option to get rid of when looking for budget cuts? The specials will give him the experience needed to apply for a full time position and insight into whether he really wants to do it (kind of like work experience) whilst having a career to fall back on if he doesn't. Just my opinion:)

Loads to do today - the schoolwork that I've been successfully been ignoring for the last week (will take ages), a bit of ironing, building the bedside cabinet, another 2 walks of the dog and if I have time a gym visit.

Bit of a disaster last night, on the final spin cycle the washing machine almost exploded (it sounded like it!). I think they'd have heard it in the next street! I think the big heavy concrete thing in it has detached and it was rattling around like a giant bowling ball inside during the spin :eek: Managed to get it switched off and the washing out but I think its died a death.:(
Could do without the extra expense of a new one - looking at about £200-250. B*gger!
Luckily, I've washed everything over the past two weeks (as well as all of the normal washing) as part of the spring clean so there's no big piles of laundry waiting but give it a week or so (at least its only my washing, no big family to worry about).

And, no I didn't sleep in the bed - its for show until its needed! All clean and fresh and ironed - nobody is allowed in it!:rotfl:

Right Grippers - time to get on with the jobs for today (come on Sanch, you can do it!)

    :rotfl::rotfl: Its just my ramblings!

One of the others (Sanch or Skint) coined the phrase becuase one of us said it was time to get a grip - hence we're grippers!

Done 5 solid hours of schoolwork and feel a bit more ready to go back tomorrow.:( Got lots of things I've been putting off out of the way.
Just back from walking the dog again - its so windy its like flying a kite with him on the end of the lead (he's only little!:))

Need to tackle the small pile of ironing and sort out the cardboard from all of the furniture for the recycling bins and then dye my hair later. Got some lovely white roots going on!
