  • Afternoon all !

Sanch its a shame you missed out on the Groupon
WW its good that you got a time for the fitters so you could get all your errands done. So often you wait in all day and as you said they come at the last minute.... or not at all

I went back to work yesterday :( Not a good day and leg sore again, so I got an early appointment at drs this morning. Apparently I have sciatica (have had this for years on and off) ...and phlebitis :(:( This is not good. Have more pain pills and antibiotics this time for infection, plus a fit note for work recommending 4 short days again instead of 3 long ones. Will see how that goes down with management when I go in tomorrow! Have also been given some pain blockers to relieve pain of diabetic neuropathy as she thinks I will be likely to get this more often now :(:( and the side effects are really scary so I'm in 2 minds about taking those. (am glad I dont pay for my prescriptions ;) )

I did pop to the charity shop after and got 2 cheap photo frames for DS to put in his cuttings from when he was in the paper.

Since then I have been pottering at home feeling sorry for myself :( Must get on and tidy up/hoover. Have to alternate between resting with leg elevated and mooching around

The carpet fitters eventually turned up at 4pm but they did a good job so it was worth it in the end. Just the furniture to go now, thats being delivered tomorrow morning (supposedly) and then I'll have to have a DIY session to put some of it together. Not looking forward to that bit but it will be nice when its finished.

Going swimming today, didn't manage to get there yesterday in the end. I also have to force myself to mark a load of controlled assessments that I've been putting off for ages.

I did manage to get a big pile of ironing yesterday and listed a couple of small things on ebay so fingers crossed for them.
Right, better get on with walking the dog. Happy Friday!

Went for a nice swim - I tried to work really hard to make up for the extra cals scoffed yesterday.
Just got drenched with the dog in the park - the rain came from nowhere!
Managed to clean the inside of the car before it started though, so at least a good job got done.
Really can't get motivated to do the marking - I always seem to work better under pressure so will probably end up doing it just before I go back to work :o

    Hi everyone

Well WW youve had a busy week havent you and got loads done. Are you going to put your feet up and relax this weekend?

Skint, hope you are feeling a bit better, how did your fit note go down with the management?

Ive had a busy week again, tired out!!! Going to put my feet up tonight, have a wine and watch some trash on TV. Still got absolutely loads to watch on the Sky box so better make inroads into that this weekend!!

Planted some more potatoes out and going to check out some nice plants tomorrow, make the garden more cheerful.

Off for my tea now (home made pea and ham soup) x
  • evening all x

WW good luck with the DIY ... last project I built was a bookcase from @rgos arrived with no instructions so I just "made it up" was surprised how many screws and nails were left over at the end :o but it hasnt fallen apart so far.... ;)

Sanch... management were surprisingly accommodating, but I dont think they had much choice as I had a "fit note" from the Doc. Finished at 1pm today thankfully and slept for most of the afternoon :o
(but was awake at 3.30am with the torrential rain lashing on the windows and could not get back to sleep.)

Nothing planned so far for the weekend. Have just had house/contents insurance renewal through and its gone up to so will be looking for cheaper cover. I'm with direct line and last year it was cheaper to start a new policy online as a new customer... how daft is that ?!

    Have a good weekend x

Hi Sanch and Skint (fellow grippers!)
Hope you're both having a nice relaxing weekend? Skint - give yourself a bit of time off to recover and Sanch don't forget to move off the settee to have a wee every now and then in your viewathon!:rotfl:

Just waiting for the furniture people to deliver. They sent a text yesterday saying they'd be here between 7 and 11am and will ring an hour before. So at least I can get out with the dog before they come (they haven't rung yet).

I did a wardrobe sort out yesterday and was brutal - anything that was too big, still had tags on ages after being bought or had only been worn once then abandoned has been culled! Either the charity shop or ebay.....might get a few pounds for it?

Dashes back in .....the men have been! Apparently they left a message yesterday (obviously I haven't mastered the new phone yet!). So at least I have the day to myself now.:T
