Hi everyone
Ive done some housework today (got a partial grip!) but had to take someone to hospital this aft so .... ! Not done much else .... Still its nice to do a good turn.
WW - bad luck with the washer. There is always something isnt there? Just when you were getting straight with your guest room.
Skint - if I was your son it would be no contest (how good to be in that position of having to choose though anyway for someone his age, good on him).
I would take the job with prospects and do the specials job. In my view (and its only my view) if someone is good enough to join the Police force, and your son obviously is, then they should probably join as either a Police officer or a special. To me PCSO's just dont command the respect from the public necessary to do such a difficult job and as they have limited powers they surely cant gain the same job satisfaction? Like I said, just my view.
Lulabelle - hi to you and I think it was me that introduced the Gripper mentality to WW's thread. Thats cos I really do need to get a grip most days - Im trying my best

All jobs done - nice and ready for the week. Even the bedside cabinet thing is built, just the wardrobe to go now. Nearly all straight again - hurrah! I can't stand mess
No longer look like a skunk - all defuzzed and clean, so ready to go back to school, I'm worse than the kids!
I also got a buyer for my phone on ebay - double the amount the recyclers were offering so happy days, will post it tomorrow. There's a few more takers on other things too but they don't close until tomorrow - all going towards the new washing machine fund
Better than nothing though as it was all going to the charity shop.;) 0 -
Morning all, cant sleep

Thanks for all your comments re DS job dilemma. This is how I feel also, but am trying to guide him to making his own decision. I think he is now close to a decision to withdraw his pcso application and reapply for specials. Its good to see others agree my viewpoint.
WW - your washing machine isnt an indesit is it? If so you may have had a lucky escape....

The last time I tried to dye curtains (a few years ago)there was an almighty bang and my machine blew the fuses and started smoking. Luckily I could run to my neighbour and he came round and made everything safe. Had to buy a new machine too.
Got a coat of paint on the stairs/hallway with help of DS yesterday. He did quite a good job actually, and I just cut-in behind him. Only 2 more coats to go !
I think I am going to have to go back to the Doc today as my eyes have turned RED !! Think its a side effect of the anti-b's from what I have read on tinternet... will get checked to make sure tho...0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Hiya WW and everyone
Well Grippers looks like Spring has definitely sprung. All the daffs finally come out in my garden. Plus it is warming up quite a lot eh lets hope we have a nice Spring and a glorious summer
Hope your red eyes have gone Skint. Youve been thru the wringer lately havent you. Sounds to me like you need a nice holiday !
Any progress with the washing machine WW?
Ive decided Im going to do a financial spring clean at the weekend, prob on Sunday as I am out Sat and Monday (I only work 4 days so count Monday as the weekend). Need to sort the gym out too and maybe devise a proper exercise programme now the weather is getting better. Its put me in the mood for making some positive changes!0 -
Skint - yes the washing machine is an indesit but its 12 years old and not one of the models in trouble. Its just old and kn*ckered like me I think!
Hope the red eye is better today - you must be turning into a Playboy bunny!
Sanch - I like the idea of a financial spring clean. I think all my DDs and bills etc are about as low as they can go but I do need to get a grip on general spending - money and I seem to be ships that pass in the night sometimes!
Good news though, a few of the things I ebayed that were destined for the charity shop raised about £40 (will be sure exactly how much when I post it all tomorrow). For the time being I've put the money in the new garden/outside of house fund but it may have to go towards a new washing machine. Will have a proper look at the accounts later. I have been paid and have paid off all the bills (including the hated council tax ) and put savings into the ISA, holiday account the new garden account.
An old uncle of mine died this morning - he was 95 and it was expected but its still sad. I'll try to get a day off for the funeral but the school is quite strict about time off for anything other than immediate family. It will mean a trip home so a long journey but needs must sometimes.
Its the lovely female time of the month for me again too - time is getting shorter and shorter between them now - averaging about 3 weeks now - I'm sure I'm perimenopausal. Just wish it would all get on with it, its not as if I'm using any of my equipment!:rotfl::rotfl:
Right off to watch some rubbish telly....:)0 -
Hi ww and everyone who reading hoping your all having nice day although the sun seems to of vanished today , well i have a dilemma i owe out £250 straight out of my wages and then with my car payment and bank loan i will only be left with about £100 for the whole of the rest of the month anyway i have ages ago cut up all my credit cards but i still get monthly paper statements and am currently paying of 3 credit cards all of which have no interest on but totals altogether about £7234 yesterday i done something really bad rang barclaycard and told them i cant find my card anywhere and also cant remember my pin number so he said no worries ill send you a new card and pin will follow now the really bad thing is I intend to withdraw £500 cash and pay of the money i owe then put the change in my bank account-then destroy the card or give it to my sis to look after and yes i no the worst thing i can do is take cash out on a credit card but i kind of feel like i have no choice and im annoyed with myself as i havent used a credit card for ages and i said i never would ow look at me but altough i havent got new card yet im already feeling bad about it i really dont no what to do ?..:mad:0

Evening all, is it just me or is this week really dragging ? its been very hard this week being back at work and leg has been aching, but its been nice to see some sunshine.... perhaps spring is on its way after all, my daffs are out too Sanch

WW good news on the ebay sales, but sorry to hear about your uncle (((hugs))). As you say its still sad news even at that grand old age. Hope you managed to get time off
Kitty, sorry I dont really have any words of wisdom to help, what do you have to pay for out of the £100 left over ?
Have been doing new hours at work and resting my leg in the afternoons. Apart from usual housework (tidying hoovering washing etc) I managed to bleach the kitchen bin and floor today so at least the house is fairly tidy. I am starting some new pain blocker tablets friday night which can make you drowsy so no big plans for the weekend either
Hope to have more to report next week

Hi sya out of the £100 ill have over i have to pay £50 for petrol which should last about 3 weeks and then leave rest in my bank acc to make balance look better as first time ever im really skint and have only got £3 till main payday on 3rd may0
-
Kitty - do you have anything you could ebay or sell? Even £20-30 would be a big help?
Skint - hope the new tablets help with the pain and you're not constantly asleep. Work flew for me this week - its been exam results week so all hell breaks loose for me with compiling results, reports, organising resits, projections for final grades etc. But its all done now and the results were on the whole very good.:T
Just back from picking up the dog from his makeover - he looks lovely and actually quite trim now a lot of the winter fur has been cut. He managed to roll in something on the way back to the car though - thats what he thought of the blow dry!
Popped to Sainsburys whilst he was being done so thats another job done for today.
I'm having a day off work today (no marking - hurrah!) and will need to clean the house and have a general tidy, but most of the other jobs are done. I think I'll go to the gym later this afternoon to use the voucher and watch a movie later. Will make the most of the nice weather too and get out for a long walk when he's recovered from the trauma of the hair cut (he's sulking at the moment :rotfl:).
Will need to look at washing machines too - I don't want a really fancy one as there's just me to wash for so will price them up later.
Hungry now so off to forage in the fridge ( no weight lost this week but none put on either;)).0 -
Hey everyone, what a lovely sunny day. Have been pottering in the garden and got loads of washing out
Pills are making me feel a bit drowsy but not too bad. Mind you I've started on 1 x 3times a day and have to increase to 3 x 3times a day  so we shall see how it goes
I've started my financial spring clean !! House/contents insurance due for renewal 1 May, last year £269.24 (includes zero excess, accidental damage, personal possessions away from home laptop/phone/x-box/camera )

Went online and new customer quote £195.04.

I have told them not to renew. I will check other quotes and if I cant get it cheaper I will join them as a new customer for £195.04 :j mega saving .... plus I went to the website saynoto 0870 and got a freephone 0800 number to use from my landline to make all the calls to them instead of the 0845
