Sanch - will have to have a think on that one....

Its been a long hard week and I am so glad its friday

    Things acheived this week:

    1. house insurance done. Last year £269.24. renewal quote 336.02. Price finally paid £195.04

    2. Line rental saver taken out with VM. It means committing to 12 months line rental but no plans to cancel this anyway. Cost £120 for 12 months saving £59.80

    3. hair done today. Had some rich brown and auburn(?) slices put through with a soft brown base colour and am really pleased with the change. The blonde highlights are now very subtle and toned down and its now quite a warm colour so I dont look so washed out

    4. work have agreed to another 2 weeks working 4 short days instead of 3 longer ones. Its much better working 8-1 and i am able to rest my leg in the afternoons

Off to bed now, have a good weekend everyone x

Morning grippers !! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend :D

Need to get a grip today instead of lounging around :o washing machine and dishwasher are on and its sunny here in the south, so my plans for today:

    1. hoover bedrooms & stairs (done)
    2. sort out the last of my wardrobe and PART WITH anything still lingering that I have not worn for at least 12 months
    3. manicure, pedicure and pumice/moisturise those heels ready for summer sandals (done)
    4. clear the kitchen table which is a magnet for letters, washing waiting to be ironed, ironing waiting to be put away (done)....and DS's water bottles sun cream shower gel etc for college/field gun waiting for him to do!
    5. cut the grass. It looks like we had a frost last night but the sun is gleaming so should be able to do this later this afternoon as long as we dont get any rain. I only have a little light hover mower so its like hoovering only I dont have to empty the bag ;)
    6. If I feel up to it.... take bottles to bottle bank. Its about 10 minutes walk to our local bottle bank and its next to our local pond, so if needs be I can have a sit and watch the ducks & swans for a while before I set off home again.
    7. Have written my meal plan for next week, now I have to write shopping list for tomorrow. Really trying for healthy meals that dont take too much prep/cooking (done)....

...and 3 loads of washing drying out on the line

OK it feels better to have some goals for today to keep me focused. After all that I am going to sit in the garden and read my book.

Suns gone but will stll relax indoors with a book this afternoon !!

Hope you all have a good sunday x

Skint - you'll need a sit down after that lot!

Back from Wales - the funeral went ok, a humanist affair with no hymns or religious aspect. It was actually the "nicest" funeral I've ever been to - 3 family members (including me) doing readings or tributes, a bit of Frank Sinatra and quite a few smiles. I'd like that sort of thing for me when the time comes.
It was a typical Welsh do with plenty of booze and chat afterwards - felt a bit delicate yesterday.
Had a quiet night last night - bath, bit of telly and early to bed - feel much better today.

Some of my friends are running the Manchester marathon this morning so I'm off with the dog later to cheer them on as they pass throughclose to my house.
Also need to go to buy a washing machine - haven't got round to it yet with the dramas of the past week so need to get on with that. The house needs a good clean too.

I'll try to go for a swim too - my back is a bit achey with all of the driving and sitting doing schoolwork late into the nights. A good stretch out will sort it out.

Right, better get on with the day....:)

    I am officially knackered!
Had a really hard week at work so far - one more day to go though and there have been rumours of a promotion/payrise this week so I'll plod on and look willing!

I need to look at the bank account and see where I am this month - been so busy that I haven't even thought about money - just spent it!
Managed to get a washing machine (more expensive than I'd hoped but hey ho) - its being delivered and installed on Saturday morning. Good job too as the washing pile is building up.

No other real news - just work work work - looking forward to the long weekend. Could do with an extra day off.

    Hope everyone else is ok.

    Hi all

I posted earlier on (bit of a ramble ha ha !) and as I was about to post lost the lot due to my laptop conking out and being on its last legs!!! Not for the first time either.

Will post at the weekend for a good catch up!

Wishing you all a good weekend, till then ....

    Morning all!
I was up at 6.30 this morning as the washing machine is supposed to be delivered between 7 and 11am - I'll probably still be waiting this afternoon!
So I'm killing time until I get can on with the day properly.
Have already written a shopping list after checking the cupboards and freezer and been out doing the weeding of the front garden - I hate gardening and this is a real chore.:( But its done now.
As soon as the washing machine arrives and is installed I'm going to take the dog to a National Trust deer park for a good walk (as long as the rain holds off) - it will do us both good to have a stretch of the legs and a bit of fresh air.

On the way back I think I'll call in to B&Q and Homebase (and maybe a garden centre) to have a look at some plants to brighten up the front. The back is currently doing a good impression of a jungle and will also need doing but I'll get the part that people can see sorted first :rotfl:

I also need to pop to the library and the drycleaners too so will do that while I'm out and about.

I think this weekend will be spent having a general tidy and putting the finishing touches to the made over spare room - Ofsted brought that all grinding to a halt.
I do have some school work to do but its probably only half a day's worth so I'll leave that for today and think about something else for a change.

    Hope the delievry comes soon.....

Hi all has been a carp week but looking forward to a relaxing weekend

Has your new shiny machine arrived yet WW?

I have to admit to drug induced sleep until 9am this morning but I obviously needed it. I've tidied and cleaned the bathroom (such a glamourous life I lead !!) washing about to go out now its stopped raining and sun is trying to get out.

I've decided to try and have a pamper session once a week. So I have exfoliated and buffed and moisturised this morning with some tangerine and mandarin bath products I got for xmas so smelling very fruity at the moment ;)

We finally got our £20 vouchers from work yesterday for winning the team challenge so I'm going to treat myself. I too want some plants for the garden, and these vouchers can be used in Homebase so I may just use them for that.

Hope you are all having a good bank hol weekend x

    Morning all!
The washing machine arrived and was installed by 10am so not bad at all. Its busy washing the mountain of laundry that has built up over the past few weeks.

I managed to go to a small local florist/garden centre yesterday and spoke to a very helpful lady who is making me up some hanging baskets (mostly fushcias) to pick up on Monday. She's given me some ideas for some pots too. It will look better when they're up.

Going to take the dog for a long walk this morning and then make an effort to finish the bedroom off and do a bit of schoolwork.
Will try to go swimming too as I'm feeling a bit podgy.
I need to do a bit of batch cookking for next week - maybe some cheese and potato pies.

Other than that its a potter around kind of day.

Hope you had another good sleep last night Skint? Sleep makes everything seems better after a good kip doesn't it?

Sounds like the washing machine arrived in the nick of time WW, otherwise you might have had to go and buy new clothes :rotfl:

Had another good sleep last night. I'm up to 9 a day of these pills (along with all the others) and they are definitely helping. I didn't feel much pain until I sat watching TV last night.

Yesterday was house cleaning day, and today is gardening. I dropped DS off at 9.30am so I popped to Homebase before the bank holiday weekend rush ;). They had some huge cordiline (sp?) that I needed for my pots £15 each or 2 for £22. I had my £20 vouchers, but it was also 20% off day, so I even got some change :D

Have planted them up, done a bit of weeding (not made much of a dent in that as I cant bend for long) and swept the patio. I might even cut the grass a bit later. Lots of washing done here too, its so warm and sunny that all the windows are open and I've even got my legs out !!! don't get too excited .... my "shorts" are cut off's and come below the knee :rotfl:
