Can't get the printer to work to print the gym voucher so it looks like I'll have to pop in to work tomorrow to get it printed off. Oh, well, any excuse not to go!0

Hi WW
I had a look at Groupon today and the gym voucher has gone up to £27 - so think will give it a miss for the moment but thanks for telling me, I should have gone on the site yesterday. Let us know how it goes it could well be something to consider for the future.
Im watching stuff on the sky box tonight then having an early night I think. Got a long day flexi chasing tomorrow0 -

Hey Skint
That's great news .... Congratulations to him! And sponsorship to do a degree is a big thing these days - he must have impressed them.0 -
That's brilliant news Skint:j:j
You deserved a celebration! Must have been the new suit!
Sanch - what's flexi chasing? Am I being thick? Probably!0 -
Flexi chasing is making flexi, Im on flexitime at work. So if I do a long day I can make extra time to add to my clock.
You can save up extra flexi to take days off.
Its hard though cos I dont really want to be there at all !!0 -
Just back from the gym and they were fine with the Groupon thing. Just had to show them the voucher and give them one of the ten coupons and show some photo id.
Did a full hour of cardio - running and cross training, was going to have a little dip in the pool too but there was a class in there, will do that tomorrow instead. Calories burned - over 500 :j:j No star jumps involved though!
Great value at £1.90 a go - never really had anything from Groupon before but would do this one again.:)
Need to do another dogwalk later and do some markingbut its a nice day so will try to get a least another hour outside.

Today's marking all done. Mindnumbing stuff but finished :j
Been thinking about what next month's financial goals should be so thought I should write them down to try to clarify in my mind what needs doing.
So, next Monday I should get my normal salary plus approx £250 extra after tax for doing extra revision in the last half term. I think that there may be an extra couple of quid from the tax changes too but I'm not sure about that so will assume that its not going to change and anything extra will be a bonus.
So, the extra £250 will be paid off the CC that the new bedroom furniture was bought on - thats all the bedroom revamp paid for then, either from savings or this extra money.
The mortgage and bills come to just under £900, leaving approx £770 for everything else.
Council tax needs paying too - I hate that bill. Another £95 down the drain....
Food budget will be £150 (for 5 weeks of shopping)
Petrol budget is £40 (not planning any big journeys)
Next bill = £20
So, that leaves around £460 - seems like plenty but it always seems to disappear.:o
I'll need to get some more money in savings too - I'm thinking £50 into holiday savings and £50 in the garden savings (the next household overhaul job) and £60 into an ISA. That leaves £300 for "me" - entertainment and socialising, haircut, dog haircut, any purchases etc. Hopefully there will be some left over to add to savings at the end of the month.
Sounds doable - just need to stick to it!0 -
Well, today will be spent waiting in for the carpet fitters. Sod's law that they'll come at 4pm rather than 10am!
Have a list of little jobs to do too - drop off drycleaning, pop to phone shop, post office, drop stuff off in work etc - to do too. If they come in time I'll go for a swim too.
Then there's the continuing saga of the never ending marking to carry on with.
I need to write a meal plan and shopping list for next week too - will try to use up as much as possible to keep costs down.
So, a fascinating day ahead......0 -
Apparently the fitters are coming between 1 and 3pm so I've taken the opportunity to get loads of errands done.
Been to school to drop stuff off and do a bit of printing (the dog was fascinated with my lab!), been to get the phone sorted (needed a new SIM), dropped off the dry cleaning, took the paint back to B&M and swapped it for laundry stuff and some cans of diet pepsi (all stuff that I'll use), been through the car wash, and picked up some fruit. Also got a Subway for lunch as a treat (only 300 cals though). Need a sit down now.:p
Marking next.....:(0
