Good Morning Gripperoonies!
Not been the best weekend as have felt distinctly under the weather, Had a lie in this morning and do feel a bit better. When I think of all the stuff I have to do this week though I just feel like I cant be bothered, and that includes going to work! Oh well .....
Going to London on Saturday too (just for the day) so I need to get myself right fot that. Really looking forward.
Going to try and get out for a walk this afternoon, at least to get some fresh air. Went round the market and for a coffee with my friend on Saturday and was totally kn***ered when I got home so know Im defo not right ,,,,
Gave a great Bank Holiday Grippers and enjoy your musuem trip WW.0 -
Excuse my typos that should be HAVE a great Bank Holiday ! (Must find my glasses)0

Back at work today. Welshy, no, I dont get paid any extra - I just (in theory) get to take the hours back at another time. It doesn't always work out like that though - quite often its just so hectic that you dont get to take the hours back at all - but because I'm currently on notice of redundancy, I'm trying to make myself as useful as possible in the hope that I get offered a full time post somewhere in the company.
Not been a good weekend. The heating packed up on Saturday, and because its a bank holiday weekend, I can't get anyone out to look at it til Wednesday. It always seems to happen when its a snowy bank holiday weekend. Last time it happened was over a New Years weekend. Fortunately DS2 and DS3 are back at their mam's now. DS1 is still at mine but he's 18 so I'm less bothered about him being in a cold house.
So, not only will I have a nasty boiler repair bill looming, but I also had to go out and spend £84 on heaters on Saturday to try to keep the boys warm too. Also bought myself a bike this weekend. Not had one for years. I nearly backed out when the heating broke down, but I reckon it will pay for itself in the long term in terms of petrol savings and fitness benefits.
Enjoy your bank holiday everyone.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
Karb - what a bummer about the heating, it always happens when you least want it to. Hope the bike is good fun though.
Sanch - hope you're feeling better now?
Been on the museum and brunch thing today and really enjoyed it. A nice chat with some new people and a little teeny bit of culture - good fun.
Stopped off at the carpet shop on the way home and bought a bargain new carpet for the spare room in the sale. Need to get it painted now
Was watching a program last night about Phil Taylor the darts player losing weight - he's lost 4 stone through sensible eating and some gentle exercise. I was half way through a bag of revels at the time and it actually shamed me into sellotaping up the bag and hiding them in the cupboard :rotfl:I kid you not - they are now mummified in the the back of the "naughty" cupboard in the kitchen.
Went on a 3 mile walk this morning with the dog and am just about to set off again with him as he's been in on his own whilst I've been out.
Have started logging things on myfitnesspal again - April is the month that I will lose those last few lbs!0 -
Sanch hope you are feeling better - stuff can wait !
Karb ouch! re cost of heating. Hope your employer realises how indispensible you are and offers you another post
WW good luck with the weight loss. I need to get back on the wagon too after scoffing loads of chocolate yesterdayPlus we had an indian (delivery) last night (it was 20% off :money:)
Plans for today
1. Seeing as I cant sleep I've worked out the budget for April. Not great as poll tax and water rates increased
2. A!di shopping trip later as the cupboards are bare! However I have got a few things in the freezer so I am going to write a meal plan and only buy what we need for the weekwith sensible healthy eating being the main aim
3. Start looking for cheap presents for DS birthday. I have a seperate savings pot for birthdays. He's 18 this year but he has already had his "big" present. Will start by get him some dvd's from amaxon he has asked for... pre-loved from 0.01p (with £1.26 delivery) and usually you cant tell they are not new

WW I have also been tracking on myfitnesspal and have been doing it now for a couple of weeks and have been amazed at how much I was actually eating when I noted it all down. I have lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks which I am pleased with. Definitely need to move more and eat lessJust keep swimming!0

Itsadogslife - great weight loss in just two weeks! Well done
Been in to school this morning to do a bit of extra tuition with the very bright kids - I get paid about an extra £100 after tax for it so its not all bad.
Not sure what I'm doing for the rest of the day now - probably a long dog walk this afternoon and maybe a bit of extra spring cleaning.
Diet went well yesterday - stuck to the cals and did a fair bit of exercise. Just need to do it all again today (and tomorrow, and the day after.....:rotfl:)0 -
Had a lovely long walk with the dog along the river and around the water park - we're both a bit tired now. Then made a nice tea for us both - he had an "offcuts" dog pack from the butchers that had been hiding in the freezer. He absolutely loves them - goes mad for them whilst they are cooking. He's happy worn out pooch with a full belly now.:)
The new Spice events pack came today so spent an hour or so going through it to see if there's anything I fancy doing. There's load of walks and a few other bits and pieces that look good, I'll probably wait until after payday before booking them though.
I don't have a lot planned for the next few days (except for book club on Thursday evening if I ever finish the bl*ody book!). So I'm having a think about what to do rather than spend hours and hours faffing on the internet and watching Jeremy Kyle!
The bedroom makeover needs starting and I also need to look at furniture - probably a trip to Ikea in the offing.
There's some schoolwork that needs doing too but I'll spread that out over the next two weeks.
The diet is going ok but I need to get more sweaty exercise done - think I'll go swimming tomorrow.
Nothing much on the telly tonight until The Following at 10pm so a nice soak in the bath and some pamper time is in order.0 -
Glad you enjoyed your walk Welshy. I got off the train 3 stops early tonight and walked home this evening - something like 3.5 miles. Then I remembered that I was supposed to have made an appointment to give blood, so walked the half mile each way to try to just turn up and donate, but I would have ended up waiting an hour, so instead I just made an appointment for next month's session and came home.
Central Heating Engineer comes tomorrow, so I just hope my heating gets sorted out then. (looks for the fingers crossed smilie)Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
Good luck with the heating engineer Karb - fingers crossed that its not too expensive.
I really need to arrange donating blood soon too - been rubbish at it lately.
Just mapped out a test run for tomorrow - not been for what seems like ages so I have a feeling it will be a real struggle.:o0
