    Hello all!
Its a bright sunny cold day here up north and I feel much better after a good sleep. I'm too old for mid week drinking these days :rotfl:

I'm going to take the dog for a good yomp around a National Trust park in an hour or so to blow away the cobwebs. Will be good to get some fresh air (that horrible wind seems to have gone) and a stretch of the legs - there's lots of young deer there at the moment so will spend a bit of time looking at them and communing with nature :).

Not sure what else to do with the day yet - I'm not very good at doing nothing so I'll have to find something to keep me occupied.
Hope you all have a good Easter break. x

I've just done 6Wk 6 pack - hard work but its done!

I have a busy day today and then off around the waterpark this afternoon as its bright and sunny here too for a change.

Have a lovely Easter - I'm off to visit mum for a relaxing weekend, but I will take my running stuff in case I get cabin fever from not doing enough!

Morning welshy. Wish I was romping round the countryside. I'm working the two bank holidays, though I've got saturday and Sunday off as I've got my boys staying with me.

Hoping to finish early though, because I still need to do a bit of food shopping for the weekend, as the kids tend not to eat the same stuff that I have in when its just me. Aldi closes at 6 today, so as long as I'm away by 4.30 I'll be fine, but with a bit of luck I can get away around 3ish.

    Hi Sparkles!
Hope you have a nice time with your mum. At least the weather is a bit better

Hello Karb! - thanks for popping in. Hope you're getting paid double time for the bank holidays? Anything exciting planned with the boys?

Had a good walk in the fresh air this morning - wasn't even that cold really. Its like a proper spring day here today - blue skies, sunny and not too fresh! Its inspired me to do a bit of spring cleaning - have already given the fridge and microwave a good scrubbing and was going to clean the oven until I discovered I didn't have an y oven cleaner (any excuse!). Then moved on the the rest of downstairs and moved every piece of furniture and hoovered, dusted and polished the lot. The windows are open getting a bit of a breeze blowing through to freshen the place up after all of the central heating recently. Its all lovely and clean now.
Will tackle upstairs tomorrow although I give it a fairly good clean every week anyway but will do the behind the beds and bits you can't see too.:rotfl:

Have also put a load of washing on and will hopefully get it dried this afternoon.

Given myself a bit of a sorting out too - nice bath, defuzz, nails and face scrub - only the dog is a bit grubby in this house now!

Next job is to go through the cupboards and freezer and see what I really need to buy this week - no excuse for not having time to cook now!

Think I'll take the dog for a walk around the water park later to tire him out and then settle down to watch a bit of telly and read. Should be tired out myself by then too :D

Hi everyone and "Easter Bunnies" to you all :)

Hope you are feeling a bit better Skint after your health scare. Has your son heard about his job interview?
Karb - see you are also an Aldi fan ... join the club! (although it has to be said Ive moaned a bit about Aldi lately, too busy, full carpark and getting a bit disorganised and a bit mucky too has to be said!!!!)

WW enjoy your time off from school and make the most of it eh. What things are you doing with Spice? When I was in it the best things I did were the horse riding and the Birds of Prey Centre - that was unbelievable. Some of the walks were good too and you meet some really nice people. I might rejoin in the summer.

Ive not done much today, made a big pan of chicken madras this aft and an even bigger pan of pea and ham soup. I will batch freeze portions of both, with the weather being like it is you need hot filling meals dont you and smaller portions I can take to work and heat up in the microwave, sandwiches get so boring.

Feeling a bit under the weather maybe starting with a cold so will be putting my feet up tonight with a wine. Maybe watch the Corrie double bill and something on the sky box.

Have a lovely weekend Grippers x

    Morning Grippers!

I'm awake early again today - don't think my body has realised I'm on holiday yet :o
Going to meet my friends early this morning in the park and have their kids for an hour while they go on a training run. They're both running a marathon soon and there's a 10km this morning that they're doing - they go too fast for me so I'll have the kids with my dog for a bit while they sprint around !

Just weighed and have stayed the same this week - no surprise after the week I've had - wine, chocolate and general slip ups. At least the scales haven't gone up. So its still 5lbs to go.

I've decided to get on with redecorating the spare room and saw some nice bedding and curtains on the Dunelm website last night and have ordered them to collect hopefully today. They're a sort of teal mix so will take them to B&Q when I've got them to match up some paint. Might pop to Ikea to look at wardrobes and bedside tables during the week. The pine stuff thats already there is about 15 years old - there's nothing wrong with it, I've just gone off it and it looks a bit dated. Might think about freecycling it but I've never done it before. Anyone tried it?

Off out tonight for a curry with the Spice lot so that's something to look forward to.
I need to do the grocery shopping too - have done a list of what I really need - going to have a use it up week to get rid of some things that have been languishing in the freezer for a while.

Kitty - £3 for a loaf of bread :eek: Its no wonder that your shopping bills are high. Poor you.

Just whipped round Tesco myself and spent £35 after the vouchers were taken off. Was hoping for a bit lower than that but I did get a few things that will last a couple of weeks and some extra cleaning bits for the great Spring Clean.:)

Just having a little sit down after amusing a 4 year old for an hour in the park and shopping and then I'm off to Dunelm to have a look at the bedding and curtains.

    Morning Grippers !

Finally my fever seems to have broken and my nose has stopped running ! After a marathon night of throwing up on wed DS is also recovering. Thank heavens mum and dad are here this week as I'm not sure how we would have managed...probably ended up with ordering in rather than home cooked nutritious food mum has made us. My leg is still sore so a few more days resting and hopefully I can get back to some normality. Had 2 days off sick from work last week and am on unpaid leave this week, so at least no work :j

DS interview went really well. He got an email from them saying they were impressed with him even though he has less experience than other applicants and they have invited him back for a second interview on tue 9th, so fingers crossed.

I'm off the painkillers today so may attempt to walk to pub with mum and dad before sunday lunch, pubs only round the corner, half price leg of lamb (courtesy of mum & dad) before they go home tomorrow

Not too many plans for next week, just some more decluttering and will clean windows if feel up to it. How did your trip to Dunelm go WW ?

Glad you're finally feeling a bit better Skint. Mums are great when you need them aren't they?
Sounds very positive for your son too - perhaps things are looking up?

My foray to Dunelm was quite successful - I bought a duvet set and matching curtains and some extra bedding (sheets etc) and then trotted off to B&Q to look at paint and came out with a huge tin of one of those white with a hint of blue/green, rollers, paint brushes etc. Saw a blind too but I can't put it up myself so may resort to getting the blind shop round again - more expensive but they do a good job.

Think I'll have a look at a cheapish carpet tomorrow - there seems to be sales all over the place. I want one of those seagrass type ones, just neutral to go with anything.

The good thing is that I've saved up for things and so far I haven't spent any money that wasn't already put aside. The next thing is a wardrobe and a bedside table - I want plain white furniture (maybe a mirrored wardrobe) to make the room look bigger.

Went on the curry last night - had a good time and met some new people - ate way too much though.:o But on the postive side I only spent £1 (other than the cost of the night out which was already paid for). Off to the museum trip and brunch tomorrow (again already paid for).

Its a lovely day here again so I'm just off to take the dog for a nice long walk along the river, trying to get rid of some of the million cals I had yesterday.

Not sure what else the day will bring yet, will have a think about it whilst walking, may have some inspiration:rotfl:
