Had a really busy morning and its the first time I've sat down - walked the dog twice, done a mile in the swimming pool, been to Sainsburys and the library and scrubbed the whole house from top to bottom - its that really nice freshly cleaned smell now - won't last with mucky paws but at least I know its done for now.

Just settling down for the rugby - would love Italy to win the first match and Scotland to beat the French but the main match is the biggie.:D

Spent £34 in Sains but it did include 2 lots of special medicated shampoo at almost £3 a go.
  • OMG - ex OH just been round to pick up DS and has told me not to worry about money when DS leaves college as he will continue to pay maintenance if we are struggling ie if DS doesnt get a job

    :):):)

This will take some of the pressure off me worrying about getting a second job or worrying about DS getting a job. Will keep looking though. If DS gets a job he can pay me board instead !

WW enjoy the rugby. Am off to hang more washing out as we seem to be between showers at the moment.

Sanch - I had to turn down the offer of a night out in the pub tonight as I also have too little money and too much month left

    Enjoy your weekend x

Can't stop as the rugby is on but just one little tip.....
Have a look at Sergio Parisse (Italian rugby captain) on google images - crikey!

Up early today - annoying when its a Sunday:mad:
    I just couldn't sleep anymore.
Never mind, I have a lot to do so I suppose its not such a bad thing. Jobs today include a load of schoolwork (tons of marking and a bit of prep), dogwalking and the dreaded dog bath , a few little DIY jobs and some exercise.
I need to replace the shower hose - it has a little split in it that I've put up with for months but with visitors coming it should get sorted. My parents and sister are arriving tomorrow as they fly to Tenerife from Manchester on Tuesday morning for a holiday and are leaving their dog with me. He's a bit of a funny one - very nervous with people but a little bully with some other dogs, he's only small too!

I'll give it another 20 mins or so to get properly light then we're off to the park followed by B-A-T-H time (have to spell it out cos he'll hide under the bed if he knows its coming) :rotfl:

Oh and how could I forget??? WALES won - and in style too! :j:j:j:beer::beer:
  • Morning WW, its really annoying isnt it when you have a chance of a lie in and you're wide awake.....

A friend came round last night and we drank a £2.49 bottle of a!di rose between us ... so it was a cheap night and no hangover ! Its looking a bit grey outside today, I think the forecast was for rain but will see, it might be wrong.

    Jobs for today...

    1. washing (never seem to get caught up at this time of year, roll on summer)

    2. found another hidden carrier bag of paperwork/bills :o have just sorted it into different piles on kitchen table and am shortly going to put it away into relevant folders

    3. exercise - hoping to get a 30 minute walk and will call off at the bottle bank on the way & declutter another bag of assorted glass (wine bottles :o )

re the maintenance, yes it is a relief but in a way it feels like he will still have a hold over me (am I just being paranoid/ungrateful?)

So I have decided that once DS is 18 if he doesnt have a job I will tell his father if he wants to contribute to give money direct to his son. I will transfer direct debits for contact lenses and martial arts direct to DS who can then pay them with money from his father. DS is quite sensible when it comes to money (thankfully he takes after me in that respect ;)) so this should work, and then he can give me "board" to cover his food & share of bills. I think this arrangement would make me feel happier about it.

Anyway, time to get on... Hope you have a great day x

Morning ,,, seems like everyone is up and about early for a Sunday!
Hey WW wish I was joining your family in Tenerife - could just do with a nice week of sun and relaxation. It is sunny here today though .. will have to make do with that.

Skint that seems like a good idea about the maintenance and your son. I agree that at least that way you do cut the tie and yet your son does not lose out from it. I always tried hard to stay friends with my ex but looking back I dont know if that was such a good idea. We can only do what we think is right at the time cant we and in the end it either works out or it doesnt!

Going to try and get out and about and get some stuff done today instead of spending too much time on the computer! No wonder it is on its last legs.

Have a good day all :)

    That's a fab idea.
Your ex will be taking care of his son and responsible to him not you and so won't have any "claim" over you.:T

Had a really busy day - done loads of work - written yr 9 lessons for the week, marked 2 sets of books, written loads of GCSE lessons and updated marksheets and trackers. There's always loads to do so its a question of drawing a line at some point - you can make this job take over your whole life. So its all been put back in the boot of the car now, 6 hours work is enough. So there!

Popped to B&M and the DIY shop - got a new shower hose and a bath mat and a few bits and pieces from the pet shop as its next door to last the dog most of the month. Also been for a good long walk with the woofer this afternoon - he looks all fluffy and cute after his bath this morning (always a joy!).

Think I'll have some tea, make my lunch for tomorrow and get clothes ready and then settle down to watch a film to let my brain relax a bit. The weekend goes by too quickly!:(
  • Afternoon all,

may have to have a rethink on the maintenance - I've been told it may stop DS from being eligible for JSA if its paid to him direct as a regular payment. Dont know how it works as last time I claimed dole was in 1988 !

Feeling really fed up today, thankfully only a half day at work and so I took DS to H@rvester for lunch and scoffed half his ice-cream sundae ! Thats the last of my xmas money from parents spent now, but it was a lovely afternoon, we sat overlooking the sea with the sun shining....could almost have been summer ;)

Hope you're feeling a bit better now Skint - a bit of ice cream does you the world of good.:)

My parents have been and gone again leaving me with their dog. They were up at 4.45am this morning - the taxi wasn't picking them up until 7am !!! So I have been up since then too - it semed like a very long day at work .:(
I've just taken the dogs to the park for a good run so at least they'll be quiet for a while now. I'm pooped! Think a nice bath and a flop on the sofa is in order.
