Yes WW you have done great with your savings, and it does make you feel a bit more secure I know.

When my Ex and I split I remember I was absolutely skint as had to buy him out and went from never having to worry about money and spending as I felt like it to watching every penny.

Even now although the tough times are in the past old habits die hard and I am still so careful with money. I really feel for people who are struggling in these hard times, you really have to watch every penny as you can get ripped off in all areas. I feel sorry for pensioners, especially the ones not internet savvy who get done over so often as they are vulnerable and dont realise how stuff works.
There are rip off merchants everywhere!

    (rant over Grippers) :)

You have a good weekend too Kitty

    Right Grippers!
I have finally decided to get back on the "diet" and exercise wagon - have been very lax lately. So its a weigh in tomorrow morning and back to cal counting on Myfitnesspal - going to give myself until I break up for Easter (3 working weeks) to see how far I can get. Done the Shred today, if its not pouring down tomorrow I'm going for a run. Been food shopping today so I have no excuse!
Strangely I'm not that hungry today.....maybe its just the right time to get a grip again? Mood is half the battle.:)

WW well done on the savings. I have fallen off the OS weight loss wagon too. Got on the scales this morning and its not good news. Need to start eating healthily and more exercise from today !

Sanch, I know what you mean about watching the pennies. My situation is very similar to yours. I managed to pay off all my debt apart from mortgage. ex-husband went into IVA about a year after divorce /remarriage so am glad I was no longer with him

Clearly we are a kind of a "First Wives Club"!:rotfl:I too am better off without the ex-OH (in lots of ways!).

Happy Mothers Day to any of the mums amongst you.
Hope you get to take it easy and are spoilt rotten today.

Have weighed this morning and am not happy - 4 lbs heavier than my lowest weight. Not at all surprising really given the food eaten since Christmas and lack of lots of sweaty exercise. I've put on a lb in the last month - doesn't seem like a lot but its a slippery slope for me. So its back to the grindstone and myfitnesspal.
Been for a walk with the dog and will log cals. Going to go for a shortish run and do the Shred today for exercise and of course there'll be more dogwalking later (he's curled up in a ball snoring on the sofa at the moment).

I'm not going on the organised dog walk as I've just heard that the motorway is shut close to where I would need to go so I don't want to get stuck and hold them up, have just let the organiser know.

Lots of school work to do (as always) and I'm going to go through the wardrobe to try to shake up my work wear a little bit. I ordered a new suit from Next last night - will see what its like when it comes.

Right better get on with something.....

Good luck with the dieting and exercise. I love myfitnesspal, I think it has really helped me. I've been using it, on and off, since last September and I've lost 18lbs so far. I have 3lbs to go to my current target and I too am aiming for Easter. Have fallen off the wagon this weekend with a chocolate binge last night but refocusing today!

You sound very dedicated with exercise, I need to find some motivation there! ;)

    Hi Shoe Gal!
I've just updated my profile on MFP and been honest about the few lbs gained. I've made my target another 7lbs off - that would take me to the lowest weight I've ever been as an adult - around 9st 5lbs. I'm still a size 10 (used to be a good 12 almost 14), then lost 26lbs last year and got to a 10. But I feel untoned and a bit flabby and less fit than I was. Just done the Shred and will do a big dog walk later.
I'm back to 1240 cals a day on MFP - lets hope I can stick to it!
Good luck with your diet campaign - hopefully we can drag each other through it!

Just out of interest, was the micro chicken from Aldi Skint?

As Monday is my free day I had four large potato cakes for lunch, dripping in Lurpack spreadable!!! I thought about having a glass of wine with it but as it was lunchtime had a cup of tea instead!

But to make it a healthy lunch I had a banana as well, but followed that up by some choc biscuits.

I need to get a grip!
