  • Just out of interest, was the micro chicken from Aldi Skint?

Yes, was really disappointed as had these before and were really nice. Wont be buying them again
As Monday is my free day I had four large potato cakes for lunch, dripping in Lurpack spreadable!!! I thought about having a glass of wine with it but as it was lunchtime had a cup of tea instead!

But to make it a healthy lunch I had a banana as well, but followed that up by some choc biscuits.

I need to get a grip!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:thats my kind of healthy lunch !! :D

Its so cold here tonight I've had to put some bed socks on and another jumper as well as the heating .... dead seksy me ya know :p

  • Yes, its really cold tonight. My excuse for all the scoffing is that you need to fuel yourself to keep warm and the more you scoff the warmer you feel!

Nowt wrong with bedsocks :) Roll on summer

I've heard that Mr Craig is very partial to a pair of bedsocks!:rotfl::rotfl:
I looked like a mitchelin man walking the dog last night - 3 jumpers and a big coat - gorgeous!

Not been too bad with the eating over the last few days - better than recently at least. Got to start somewhere I suppose.
Need to do the Shred tonight too - can just about feel my legs again now:eek:

Payday on Friday - thankfully! The council tax bill has just arrived - haven't been brave enough to open it yet, the phone bill came too - I hate bills:mad:
  • Yes WW its that time of year again isnt it - The Dreaded Council Tax Bill. Usually followed by The Dreaded Water Rates Bill !!

I went onto a meter for my water about 4 years ago and I have to say my water bill halved. Makes no sense for one person to pay the same water bill as a family.

Had a healthy dinner tonight Grippers. Roast chicken and veggies.
Followed by apple pie and custard!! :)
  • Hi grippers ! Have still fallen off the OS weight loss wagon, made the mistake of baking banana muffins :o

Havent had my council tax bill yet but have just got the car tax reminder and water bill. :( Good news is that I've saved over last 12 months to pay car tax.

When I did the comparison tool it said I wouldnt save much by going onto a water meter (2 of us, dishwasher & washing machine on average about once a day each. No not loads of my clothes.... its DS with his college uniform, martial arts sweaty gear twice a week, field gun crew sweaty gear and about 6 towels a week where he showers at college).

Have paid my car tax online, so at least I dont have to spend petrol going to post office ;)

It turned out not to be the council tax bill - its still not arrived. Its a bit late isn't it considering they'll want paying as soon as April starts
Had another busy week so far - can't believe its Friday again tomorrow - the time is just flying by!

Not much else to report really - just work, work, work.
2 weeks to the holidays now though :)
  • Evening everyone ....

Well Grippers been doing my finances tonight and its pretty grim. Got about £90 to last to the end of the month and out of that need £40 for day out next Saturday EEEK!

Thankfully my petrol is covered till payday but that is all. Will need to do some serious budgeting on the food front plus got the bird food and dog food to buy. Tonight I thought my computer had finally packed up but managed to bring it back to life with a repair. But its on its last legs, mind you it has had some hammer.

Whats going to go wrong next? Need new hoover too. Plus 4 new tyres and my car insurance due on 14th April. I need some ideas Grippers and fast!!!!

    :(
  • PS Dont suggest going on the streets ..... its too cold and Im not as young as I used to be :)

Got some stuff on Ebay left over from the car boot, might make a few quid off that. Hey ho .....

Oh Sanch, its rubbish when you're really skint isn't it? I hope you manage. Things do seem to go at the same time don't they.
Has the hoover completely given up the ghost? Mine is moody - one day its fine the next it cuts out after about 10 mins. It will only resurrect itself after a full clean, meaning taking it apart and putting it all back together again.

Well even though I haven't posted daily on MFP I have tried a bit this week and have managed to lose 1lb :j It seems like ages since I lost anything at all so I'm very pleased.
I will continue to be good but not fanatical (as I can get a bit obsessive sometimes) and do some exercise.
Off swimming this morning before settling down to watch all of the day's rugby - come on Wales!

It was my payday yesterday and I too have just been through the finances and looked at where the money needs to go this month. I'm still awaiting the yukky council tax bill so that will be about £100 that seems a complete waste of money.:( Its my sister's birthday but I bought her present out of last month's salary, just need to get a card.
Its the Easter hols for me too during this month - just 2 more weeks to work. I get paid again on my forst day back at work in April. I'll get the extra £250 ish for revision classes then too so I think that will go straight into the holiday fund for the summer.

Right, better get the dog walked and get on with things.
  • Thanks WW

Its okay really, in fact its a bit of a challenge making it last! I dont like dipping into savings or using credit cards so will just last till the end of the month. At least its not a long term thing, hopefully!

Take your point about the hoover - mine cuts out after about 5 mins so I might have a bash at taking it apart.

Council tax bill arrived this morning, its one pound a month less than last year so that is good, but I agree with you, you really do feel that you are getting nothing for your hard earned cash.
