I don't know if it's already been mentioned but I love the Everyday frozen Stir Fry mix. Fresh Stir Fry mix never gets eaten quickly enough in our house before it goes off so the frozen alternative reduces waste and it has a nice mix of veg in it!
  • I went shopping today and bougth tesco everyday hand soap, panty liners, biscuit barrel, fish fingers, self raising flour, cornflakes (my fav at 33p and taste almost as good as Kellogs), we buy Tesco own brand loo roll, cod in breadcrumbs, tomato soup (husband says better than top brand), seasoning. Very happy with all of these. Have bought before and would buy again. The only one I've been really unhappy about is the bread. Really useful thread this one. Thanks to everyone who has posted before me xxx

Seconded for the liquid wash. I started using a couple of weeks ago and was a it worried there might be rashes from it but all seems fine and when coupled with some Lenor (loads left in our house from a promotion early last year) cannot tell a difference from a more expensive brand.

I also use the squashes, washing up sponges, digestives and custard creams, cooking chocolate for baking with, dried pasta, chopped tomatoes (although the ones from aldi are nicer), flip bin liners and tortilla chips.

Am keen to check out the corned beef this week as it has just appeared in our store.

Would not use the washing up liquid- very thin and needs loads yet harsh on the skin. Fairy really does last longer!

Bought EV individual cheese & tomato pizzas for the first time this weekend (50p each or pack of 4 for £1.50)
DD prefers them to the brand name ones I usually buy - also, because they are individual size. can do different toppings for different family members, no more arguments :) (well, at least not about pizza )

It's really interesting reading this, I am definitely going to seek out the squash. I buy the 50p choc chip cake bars too. I have always bought the blue and white kitchen cloths. I see no difference in the tuna, either. One very sweet gentleman did ask me if I was buying it for my cats and look surprised when I told him it was for my children.

I like the part baked baguettes, nice on a weekend to make lunch a bit different. I think it's £1 for four.

I also buy the value pizzas and add extra toppings to suit everyone's tastes.
  • Tried a jar of EV curry sauce and although a little runnier it tasted just fine and the kids enjoyed it to. Will defo get some more of this.

    I have recently started trying everyday value products and will review them as I go adding to this list;

    Would recommend:
Sliced ham; lovely on a pizza
    Pasta
    Flour: self raising & plain
    Passata (tetra pak)
    Cat litter
Chocolate bars (as others have said: sweet but nice & great for baking)
Fabric conditioner: thin but huge bottle & does the job
    Garlic bread
Frozen yorkshire puddings: tiny but yummy
Individual red and white wines boxed: perfect size for cooking
Mozzarella - noticed no difference to more expensive brands
    Pizza bases
    Washing up sponges
    Fresh veg
    Panty liners
Mint sauce: a bit sweet but good
    Basmati rice
    Foil and food wrap
Facial tissues (as others have said: good for everyday use but not a cold)
    Facial wipes
    Dried fruit
    Jaffa cakes
    Lemon curd
    Frozen stir fry veg
    Frozen mixed veg
    3 way cook chips
    Sweetened soya drink 1 litre
    Soft cheese
    Cottage cheese
    Tinned sardines in tomato sauce
    Cheese & tomato pizzas x 4
    Tomato puree
    Tinned pineapple
    Mixed herbs
    Kitchen roll
    Instant noodles (chicken and curry)
Double strength apple & blackcurrant squash - I prefer this to Robinsons
    Cotton wool face pads
Apple and custard strudel – delicious!
Coleslaw – a little sharp but ok
Tinned sweetcorn, chopped tomatoes, kidney beans
    Crumpets
The pot noodles are nice but do need jazzing up with more flavour
Mayonnaise – great texture but taste could be more creamy less sharp
    Lightly salted tortilla chips
Vodka - great for making chocolate or other flavoured vodka: like paint stripper on its own
Dishwasher tablets: clean just as well as any

    Would not recommend:
Tinned macaroni cheese; sauce too thin and tasteless; improves with added salt but not a great improvement.
Chocolate chip cookies: too sweet and not enough of a chocolatey taste
Variety crisps 12 x 18g - horrid! Taste stale when newly opened
Multigrain Hoops - also horrid: same problem taste stale when brand new
Tinned tomato soup: used to be really nice but they must have changed the recipe as it is now rubbish
Toilet roll: thin and the inner tubes are so big there's hardly anything on the roll
  • I much prefer the value blackcurrant squash - tastes much nicer than Robinsons and you only need to use a little bit. Think it is about 32p.
