Ah, brilliant, thank you! Having updated the phone the interface is *much* nicer anyway, but it's good to know I can easily disable the animations if needed anyway.
I also notice since updating I actually can install Nova, if needed, woo! But happy enough with the standard for now. Is there anyway to loop between the home screen pages though? I hate when you get to the end and can't go back around
Dont think so, but the Home button takes you straight back to the main 'middle' one, good for me.
or pressing the 'back' key gives an instant thumbnail of every homescreen you can just press to jump to.0 -
Perfect, thanks:)0

Okay, blonde question.
I've done a firmware upgrade and have android 4.0 is this ICS?
Since doing this my APN seeting don't work on TMobile/EE and Tweakker won't work either?
Any ideas please?
Thanks
ETA - Phone's now gone to emergency calls only??? Can't access anything at all??
Oh no!!!0 -
Android 4 is indeed ICS.
APN you might need to add manually.0 -
I upgraded using the official VF ICS and absolutely hated it. I'm sure it had even more bloatware than the original. Also the Disable Background Data was no longer available and I use that a lot.
I have just downgraded it back to GB and what a relief.
I backed up everything as instructed both times, but it didn't back up my apps. Is that normal and do you have to download apps from the Play Store every time you do an up/downgrade?0 -

Its Broken on all versions apart from ones people have cooked themselves - it is fixable though. It should have been fixed by voda though.[/COLOR]
SG,
Would be really grateful if you could list the steps in how to fix this.
I DL the fix and switched off USB debugging but not sure where to unzip this to on my G300?0 -
Sorry to ask again but could anyone please point me in the direction of a fix??
I think this phone is heading for the bin
It says EE - Emergency call so don't think its locked?
Many many thanks if you can help.0 -

Try powering off and taking out/putting your sim back in then starting up 1st of all.
If still issue go to settings -wireless & networks, More... mobile networks ... (near bottom) Network Operators -- this should trigger a scan for networks, takes a while. When done try selecting 'select automatically'
If that doesn't help go back through and try selecting the network service for your SIM card instead.
Generally emergency call means the phone is working but its not registered to your service provider as per your sim so you not entitled to make calls (emergency calls can use any network within range)0 -
Thanks sillygoose, I have tried the battery and sim and tried the sim in another phone with no problems.
However, from the homescreen it will not let me access any settings etc. I can't move off that page at all?0 -

Well I was 'lucky' enough to have my phone rooted (that was an adventure ) so was able to fix just by moving some files but I will try and help you with 'the other way' that is listed.
You need to unzip the files onto your PC (I am assuming your using a Windows PC?) basically this method runs a program on your PC that via the usb gains access to the system files on the phone and repairs the dictionary ones.
Unzip the files to a folder on your PC.
Turn your phone on, plug it into your PC and make sure USB Debugging is enabled. (not switched off!)
Find in the Dictfix folder you unzipped, the 'dictfix-windows.bat' file and double click to run it.
This should do the business. Its a good idea then to restart your phone.
The little red lines under every word falsely claiming you spelt it wrong should be gone (unless you of course did spell it wrong! :rotfl:)0
