Yes, I simply switched it on and it started to update the FW.

It left me feeling quite disconcerted as if it bricked I wouldn't have even of had the pleasure of it working at least once!

Just DL'ing the MX player now.

Keep any more tips coming please :)

I am wondering if you did an SD update or somehow got a Voda update pushed then!! lets check... go to settings.. about phone, scroll down to build number and check the last three digits - if its the one I suggested it should be 940

Are you familiar with Android? if not the 1st step is to go create a free gmail account. Then link the phone to it and sync (can be manual or auto depending on how much data you want to consume)

This then gives you the ability to backup contacts, appointments and other things onto gmail.
  • I'm in a dilema now what to do about upgrading my g300 to ICS as my micro sd card adaptor arrived today.. Over at the vodaphone UK forum some folk are suggesting there are problems with the Vodaphone issued update and its an update from NZ that has bugs from months ago..

Tricky! I do wonder if they have been pressured for a long time now and have just thrown their hands up and released any old thing to move on.

I have this phone, I've had a problem when receiving incoming calls sometimes. I can't unlock the screen to answer and the phone will not stop ringing until I turn it off completely?
    Anyone else had this?
    Thanks

Love this phone, but am struggling to send mms picture messages. I unlocked it to my tesco payg and they sent a text to update all settings, which I have checked and they are correct. However the message just sayes sending and never actually sends, any ideas?

had this myself with tesco few years back

after weeks of calls to Tesco and sitting on the phone with tech department typing in different settings and them blaming me for buying my phone online it turned out tesco had not activated mms facility on my simcard

I complained and got them to credit my sum for all wasted mms I tried that were still deducted at 50p each attempt
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

I had problems with the settings, I installed Tweaker and it's been fine since.

Yes, the last three digits are 940, Android vers 4.0.3 and the splash screen is the one you mentioned.

Maybe, a fresh install checks the phone and sd cards for the latest version and installs that. Anyway, its working well.

I've moved over from a HTC Wildfire so this is a big step up.

However, two things I can't find are the front page clock/weather widget and I used to be able on the HTC to use a small widget (Horizontal bar) to list my latest calender event (Hotmail). Do you know where I can find these. They're not listed in my widgets settings.

I've dl'd MX Player and it played the video of an MVK file perfectly but the sound keeps dropping in and out every 10secs. Might just be the MXK though. I'll try another one. The PQ was amazing though.
