I believe the low volume issues were fixed with the update to B892. Check the date of the reviews you have read.

Thanks for calling me "odd", though my ego can take it. Yes, I was trying to inject a bit of humour by referring to myself as a "phone stabber" (basically a compulsive smartphone addict) though it appears to have went over a few members' heads! ;)

I'd agree with that, about the GiffGaff forums, but as it is the ONLY avenue to get help and advice, unfortunately, there's no choice. And at least I try to add something productive and worthwhile to the Community as I do take time out to help others too.

The responses you get are either "nothing" replies ("Ask Agent" x 100), telling you to do something you've already done, people copy/pasting..some even say things like "You're obviously not bright enough to use GiffGaff. Bye then!"! to members threatening to leave.

The forums on there are beyond belief; the majority of replies are useless.

Most of the time I don't bother going on, unless I'm really stuck and need help. The Agents, too, are terrible...and you have to wait 24 hours for each response, so the days tick by.

As I said, I was phone-free for eleven days, batting off nonsense replies from members AND Agents. I had to resort to begging for help on another thread.

So, I earned Payback despite myself..because most people weren't giving me answers and waffling rubbish, I had to keep posting. The problem could have been resolved more quickly. Unfortunately.

As for the call volume on the Huawei, I've tested the phone a few times and there seems to be no problem on either end of the call (I'm on B892 also). Even tried Speakerphone as mum prefers to use that sometimes. I have heard some say they reckon the ringtones aren't loud enough, though you could always change them?

    Thanks for your replies.
Sorry for asking the obvious, but this can definitely be unlocked can't it?
I'm on O2 so voda is no good.
    Thanks.
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
  • Yes. Will cost you a fiver for an unlock code from ebay and it's easy peasy.
  • Where is the cheapest place to get one now ?

I know what you mean its so like that. I am fortunate as I didn't need to port a number, the number one hassle area. I went straight onto Goodybags with a credit card and its been running without a glitch since.

What annoys me is the fact that as always the few spoil it for the majority and have hammered the internet so hard until Giffgaff has had to change the deal, I will probably stay and go up to £12 bag. Although I don't use the 1Gb on £10 it only takes one rogue app and you could end up with a horrendous data bill - safer on unlimited!

Without hoop jumping - just about anywhere that sells them tbh (selling at rrp so just a matter of cash back etc). With hoop jumping (but not much of it to be fair), Isme.

    avoid cellunlockerpro.

He sent me the wrong code and when told of this requested me to make a video and put it on youtube showing me inserting the (wrong) code again and how the phone reacted!

(He eventually did resend a correct code, but only after me telling him his fortune over the video nonsense, and I discovered from his negs that this is how he always reacts when customers get a wrong code.
