I've just checked and it now seems to be working
Yes, but where/how???
I still can't see any mention of backing up photos from the https://mail.google.com page
I told you here:Check settings>accounts
Open your gmail account and make sure your photos are set to sync
....
For some reason you went to Settings>Accounts>Facebook??When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?0 -
Facebook? I don't remember saying that ... (all I said was that the synch to facebook on the phone was 'off' whereas the others were on
Anyway, let's get back to basics ....
Go to mail.google.com on my PC
Top right is a 'cog' logo
From the drop down list is 'settings'
Then choose the accounts tab
There is *no* mention of photos in there at all
I really appreciate all your input, but I can't see the setting that you are referring to, sorry!0 -
J B : on your phone, not pc: settings/account/google..in there click on your gmail account. The next screen will show you everything that you can choose to (or not) sync within gmail/G+

Do downloaded apps go to the phone memory or the SIM?
Sorry to ask a basic question. When I travel outside the UK, I switch off my G300 and rely on a basic 3G phone with local SIMs. This means that I have no data roaming charges and I still have phone access. It also means that I can't use my G300.
If I take out my UK SIM and insert a local 3G SIM (with data), can I use the apps I downloaded? I'm thinking mainly of Skype, various newspapers and perhaps mail2web.com for e-mail.
OTOH, if the apps are on the SIM, I won't be able to do that.
Thanks for your help.0 -
The apps are not on the SIM card. They're on the phone's built in memory, or on an SD card if installed. The only data you are likely to have on the SIM are some contacts, if they weren't copied to the phone.
Once you've got the local SIM installed, why not just use your G300 as normal? Put your UK SIM in the other handset if you still want to be able to receive or make calls on your UK number. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Copy your contacts from your UK sim to your phone, that way you will always have access to them0
