I'm happy with the stock Google navigation app and the fact it pulls maps as it needs them so they will always be current

only thing im not sure how to do is pre-load it with a journey whilst at home on WiFi - that said 3g still works fine but don't know how much data it uses
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

If anyone can offer pearls of wisdom that'd be great. A couple of questions: to use the built in radio is there any way round plugging in the headphones? Bit of a pain that. If there is no way round has anyone got a rough'ish/accurate'ish guesstimate of how much download an internet radio app would use on the 'phone? Thanks for any help.

A moderate quality stream might use 15 MB per half hour.
There are 'ways' of downloading BBC radio progs to time and location shift them onto your phone.

Streaming radio is best done at homes as it really eats battery on 3g.

Also Tunein Radio Pro on your phone can record programmes for later listening.

Listening to radio stations using free apps doesn't need headphones.

I can listen to LBC97.3 and JazzFM this way. (Curiously, in spite of its name, JazzFM is no longer available on FM. :D)

I can also watch NBC Nightly News from the US using their free app.

Taking buglawton's point, I only do this with free wifi.

Well the headphone cable is used as the radio aerial so it has to have one plugged in. But you do know you don't have to actually listen through them? if you press the speaker icon sound is routed out the loudspeaker instead, pretty loud too!

Just thought I would mention in case... :)

You are correct, and does not encroach on data usage either.
  • Hi all i have gotten the G300 for my GF for xmas and when turning it to make sure it worked i noticed that they is rows of dots with maybes 5 mm space between each one and it covers the full screen this is only visible when titled at an angle.

Also when the screen is bright white i can see them faintly.

I done a Google and it says that its the digitizers matrix the thing that understands your touch.

Everyones the same? Just making sure this is normal for the screen as i have never noticed them on my sg2.

    Cheers x

Yep, mine, which has been in daily use since May, is the same. Only visible under certain light conditions, and doesn't affect how the screen works.

Thanks for the replies and guess I just keep my fingers crossed for broadband to become available in our home area. Jeez, I can get jealous of areas BT decides to service! Yes SG, I'd figured out that about the headphones - it just seems a bit lumpy. Merry Christmas to all.:)
