Virgin deals

Firstly sorry if this is somewhere else on the forum.

I recently upgraded my telephone and broadband to the 3 for £30.00 package, when I had it installed I was given the Large tv package but my number one son wanted all music channels, so I enquired as to how much this would additionally cost?

I was informed by the lovely lady on't other end of the phone that I would be upgraded to the XL tv package for free, as this is now the new tv service for the 3 for £30.00 package.

I asked if this is an automatic upgrade and she said NO, people have to ask for it or they dont get it.

Anybody who hasen't already done so, DO NOW.

Also Here is a list (albeit a very small list) of companies with, what I believe good/to excelllent customer service.

VIRGIN MEDIA/ VIRGIN MOBILE.:A
DYSON.:A
Told you it was a small list:)
I would recommend these two companies to anyone, and have already done so too.

Thank you, just got this sorted. Had a moan at the guy on the phone about the upgrade not being automatic (we already have the XL TV, but were being charged £40.50 per month!).

I asked why I hadn;t been automatically switched to the cheaper price, after being a loyal customer for years, he said they weren't "allowed" to access peoples accounts without their knowledge!!!!!!

What twaddle, they access it quick enough when they put the prices up.

    Hi

A few weeks ago I phoned to cancel my Virgin account and pointed out that Sky are doing a 3 for 26 pounds offer inc free evening and weekend calls etc. with extra 11 pounds for BT line, or 3 for 31 pounds including 8mb broadband, free 24 hr local and national phone calls and XL Family pack + BT line cost, which was a much cheaper deal than I was getting.

I now have the same package including phone rental with Virgin + talk mobile & talk international for 37 pounds, 18 pounds of this being billed seperately for broadband. Also Virgin say that they will be upgrading me to up to 20mb broadband in May!

    Hope that this helps

hi just phoned virgin, they reduced my monthly payment from £56.50 to £43.00 and also added sky movies. This is permanent not just for 6 months, give them a ring now.
  • Thanks to everyone who has posted their packages.

Given we don't watch much telly, we did have :
    Telewest BB 4mb : £25
    Telewest Phone : £11
    Telewest TV Package : £5.50

They didn't reduce the package down when they swapped so we were overpaying.

Phoned through using 150, went through the menus to 'thinking of leaving', got a permanent deal on:

4mb Broadband, Medium TV, Talk Weekends (inc caller ID) for £27.
No new contract, don't have to ring and renew it in 12 months time.

They have lots of offers, but you need to have a good idea of what you want before you phone them so they can tell you the most appropriate package for you - I don't think you can barter a great deal unless you are a big spender with them, but this deal seems good for us even though others have got lots more for extra £10-20 per month - we wouldn't use the extra benefits much. £14.50 p.m. saved!

Much thanks to OP, got my package reduced to 3 for £30 saving an extra £10 a month. It's not good that they don't automatically do this for existing customers, I am going to make it my mission to tell everyone I know on Virgin to call up, already saved one other person some money :j :j
