Ok, I'm gonna give 'em a call ! Gonna say how fed up I am with their constant billing mistakes ( over £35 so far this year ! ), how I've been a loyal customer for years and years, and that I'm paying far over the odds for the services I have:
    • TV: XL @ £20.50
    • Broadband: M @ £18.00
    • Phone: Line rental + Talk Unlimited @ £11.00 + £9.95
    • Mobile: 300 Mins, 300 Txts @ £10.00
    • No extras
Total cost per month: £69.45 !!!

What do you think my chances are if I ask for the following, all for a total cost of £50 indefinately ? :
    • TV: XL
    • Extras: V+ ( with retention of old box ), Sky Sports, Sky Movies
    • Phone: Line Rental, Talk Unlimited
    • Broadband: XL
    • Mobile: 300 texts, 300 mins
What's the phone number for Retentions please ? A free number of course ;)

Edit: Forgot to add that I'd be prepared to drop the Sky Sports and Sky Movies, drop Talk Unlimited down to Free Evenins and Weekends, reduce the broadband down ( am currently on M ) and possibly even drop the mobile. Thought I'd start with the ultimate deal and see what they say ;)

If you get all that for £50 then it will be absolutely fantastic,. I excpect that lot you might get for about £70, it also sounds like that is what you get in the VIP package that they do ,which is about £90 i think.

The retention numbers that i have are these :- 0800 0529403 or 0800052

Best of luck to you and please post what you get in the end.

There's a huge thread on ntl/virgin deals and who to contact HERE

Its headed 'cut your NTL/telewest BB pricing' but covers all services from ntl/telewest/virgin.

The thread is 35 pages long, so the most current deals will be around the end of the thread. It's also got numbers to phone, and input from mse-rs who work for ntl/telewest/virgin.

Well, that didn't go too well, lol !

Offered me my current package ( less the mobile ) for £34.95:

    TV: XL
    Broadband: M
Phone: Line rental + Talk Unlimited
    No extras

    I guess that's the 3 for £30 offer ?

    Upgrade to V+ @ £10, additional box @ £5.

All on a 12 months contract.

Nothing extra to the usual online deals then.

Didn't bother asking about other extras as this guy wasn't gonna budge ! Ooo, I didn't like him ;)

All i can suggest is to ring back and hopefully you will get a different retentions person.
Was it RETENTIONS you spoke to?
    Did you accept the offer.
It does sound like a routine answer from customer services.

Yes, it was retentions. No I didn't accept the offer.

To be honest, he really scared me off ! Made out 'retentions' was somewhere you accept an offer and get stuck with same one for life ? One chance to make your choice and one chance only ! There really was no way he would budge. I'd said that the various deals that people had got were all over the internet... didn't make any difference. He got a bit shirty with me then :D

Is there a difference between going through retentions and Customer Services if I'm only going to end up with the 3 for £30 anyway ?
