Just got Virgin to reduce my monthly charge to £34.95 "for ever" from £49.96, this for TV XL, Talk Unlimited and Brioadband.
All I did was state surprise at the recent single bill for all services from Virgin - no haggling they just reduced the price.0 -

I managed to get the same - I think !
Spoke to a nice guy this time ( not the nicest as still not the best deal tho) Anyways, my cost for the following reduced from £54 to £34
- TV: XL
- Broadband: M
- Talk Unlimited
Will more than likely ditch the mobile deal
So all in all, not the best...yet... but still better than what I was paying !
TV: XL
Broadband: M
Talk Unlimited
V+
Extra Box

I have had a bizarre experience with Virgin Media and I would love someone from the company who may be lurking to explain it.
I phoned up a couple of weeks ago and said I was thinking of leaving Sky, spoke to a nice young man and asked what they could offer. He offered a better than published deal but not quite as good as some people were posting they'd been offered so I said I'd think about it. I asked him to put the offer in writing to my e-mail address and he said he would. Never got an e-mail though.
Today I got home and found two answerphone messages, saying I'd asked for further contact, one giving an 0800 number and the other giving someone's name and what appeared to be a mobile number. Curiouser and curiouser.
Anyway, I called the 0800 number thinking that, perhaps, they really wanted to win someone over from the competition, and were going to offer me something better. However, I got on to someone who had no record of the original offer to me and just kept banging on about the 3 for 30. He just couldn't grasp that I'd already been offered a better deal than that and swore blind that this was the best they could do. He also completely missed all the other buying signals I was giving him about wanting V+ and an extra box. He actually seemed quite bored with the whole thing.
I'm leaving Sky because I am so sick of dealing with an organisation that insults its customers' intelligence. Way to go Virgin, I had been wavering but now I know you're not for me either!
Anyone out there prepared to treat their customers like they have a brain and a choice? I'll sign up.

i would ring up again to the sales number and speak to someone again,my experience with them has been excellent so far,any problems i have had they have sorted it much better than before.
hope you get the deal that you were looking forappreciate what you have got x0 -
Phoned them this morning.
Was paying £25 for 4mb broadband - Nothing else.
once i EVENTUALLY got through.....then transferred to the right person....(so many options its so annoying!) I got upgraded to 20Mb Broadband at £17.50 pm. Added a phone line for £11 which had free digital TV (which'll i'll stick in the bedroom as we already have sky+ downstairs.
I told the guy i was fed up waiting and being transferred from dept. to dept he said sorry for the inconvenience and gave me £10 off my next bill!
I'm a happy chappy......just need to buy a handset now for the landline0 -
Hi folks, I would like to ask for your expert opinions. I currently have Broadband, TV and phone with Virgin Media. I rang them up about 6-8 months ago to try and get a better deal. I managed to get the following; (without getting too complicated I have broken it down in a basic format)
TV L - Free for 12 months
Broadband M - £8.51
Telephone - £13.00 (line rental £11 + Talk eve & wkends local £2)
To my surprise I also had the On demand TV choice service along with Virgin central when that came along, available to me which gave me access to a whole range to tv shows (you usually have to pay a subsription fee). I really enjoyed this feature and used it a lot. This has just been stopped however, and i can no longer access them.
Do you think I would be pushing it too much to try and get it back or to try and get a better TV package, given the deal that I have? If you think I should try, what angle would you go in at and how should I play it? Thanks guys and girls for your time. Chris0
