Virgin deals

Each time you ring up you hopefully get a different operator and different operators give different deals so it seems.
Customer services do not have the authourity to haggle a deal, only what is on screen, wheras retentions does have the authourity to give a better deal.
Ring again as what you were offered was appaling.
As TITEASCRAMP found you can get a good deal.0 -

If you do accept a deal are you tied to that for 12 months or can you haggle on a further occassion for an even better deal ? Can you only get one shot at the Retention lot ?!0

To be honest, he really scared me off ! Made out 'retentions' was somewhere you accept an offer and get stuck with same one for life ? One chance to make your choice and one chance only ! There really was no way he would budge. I'd said that the various deals that people had got were all over the internet... didn't make any difference. He got a bit shirty with me then
Is there a difference between going through retentions and Customer Services if I'm only going to end up with the 3 for £30 anyway ?
Retentions have much flexibility in what they offer you, as they aim to 'retain' customers when they are ready to leave - 3 for £30 goes out the window, so if this guy wouldnt budge its poss he was customer service and not retentions. I have had customer services telling me they were retentions, so unless you ring the dedicated retentions number, it'll prolly be cust service you speak to.
All the info is in the link in post 35, including which deals were offered, who to speak to and whether the bod on the end of the phone is giving you good or bad info.

Is that tied with VM or tied to the deal you're now on ? If you know what I mean ?
Would be back on the phone to 'em by now but am eating chocolate cake0 -
Every time a new deal comes along i have changed the deal i get. But that was when NTL were in control now its Virgin Media i have no idea.
I have signed no contract at all ,even when i had a V+ box installed,i was told that you had to sign a contract to get a V+ box !!!! I have never signed any contract in the last 13 years.
Keep on trying phoning to get a good deal until you accept a good deal ,thats what i did.0 -

I'm not tied in to my deal at all. I speak to them at 3 monthly intervals and I can either continue with the deal for another 3 months or negotiate another or leave . The deal they gave me will last for 12 months or until I secure a new deal with them.
I got all my info from other peoples experiences on the original thread.
