Use paper and then a wet wipe. You'll find you're cleaner too!:embarasse:embarasse
Cheap body/botty lotion is cheaper & silkier than wipes.

When I joined the Army some years ago the rule was "one up, one down and one across". I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Heehee, my OH said that when HE was in the Army, the rule was "one up, one down, and one to shine"! :rotfl:

I never checked to see if it worked...

Ideally you should have a plumbed in shattaf, aka Arabic Dusche, or hand bidet.

Plan B is the enema squirt that acts like a turkey baster.
  • Tried saving money by using packets of toilet rolls from the Pound shop or 99p store...
    - less leafs per roll compared to conventional, and poor quality paper more perishable when using - NOT a nice experience - Never again - false economy.

You need to be carefull that you didn't wipe more on than you were wiping off

The original question was how to minimise loo paper use? not to compromise on comfort.
Buy good quality loo paper, only take three sheets and fold them so you have one sheet showing and use one side, carefully fold that over after use and the use the next clean sheet. You can continue doing this a lot of times without getting a problem!:j
  • OK So this is a difficult one, but the best way is to buy well but not at an inflated price. Lidl have good priced loo roll. Don't be misled into thinking that cheaper and thinner are better, as kids we used to say it's either thick medium or ewwww!!!
And what ever you do don't go for the "glide slide" old izal toilet roll just spreads everything round your bum.
  • I've taken a tip from the sailors on the Mary Rose---- Use a Toerag --- One short knotted piece of thick rope per person .. . Dip this into a bucket of salt water to clean afterwards .... Ropes can be colour coded for ease of identification ..........This is very portable for summer trips to the sea side .....NO MORE QUEUING FOR THOSE SMELLY TOILETS !!!!!==== Just make a dash to the sea with your piece of rope .:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::D:j:eek::)
  • Lidl Floralys 4 ply is the very best and most economical.
  • Lidle is cheaper for Cushelle - 9.99 for 24 and when on offer it's £7.99!!! I always stock up or I buy Regin at Poundstretcher - cheaper and v.g. quality too!!
I remember the shiny tracing paper loo roll; it was called "Izal Medicated" and it had a green wrapper with a white first-aid cross on. No absorbancy whatsoever, as it just moved the target substance up your back and woe-betide if you managed to get a sharp crease in the old Izal - a proper sphincter ripper. Best used for tracing and brass rubbing I recall.

Cushelle (with the little koala bears on - why I don't know as Andrex has little puppies on) I find is good quality and I buy in bulk when it's on offer at Makro. £10.99 + VAT @ 20% = £13.19 for 24 rolls = 55p per roll but when on BOGOF = 48 rolls @ 27.5p per roll.

Hope this helps with the paperwork.

This is in South East Asia country side.

Farm yard set up, chicken running freely, toddler takes a dump, and a dog comes up to lick him clean. I was there.

So, get a golden retriever and call him Andrex. ;)
