I find the best way is to give a couple of wipes and the clean my !!!! In the sink. Difficult to do at work ( read the book How To Poo At Work) but disabled looks are areal boon these days

How do you clean the basin afterwards?

    Ditto cats. And toddlers.

Also don't store them next to or above the loo. Once it's been knocked in the bowl, it's no good to anyone.

Other than that, I'd just buy the most economical ones I can find, in bulk, and then only use what's really needed. All this cleaning-with-your-hands malarky is unhygienic. I'd rather spend cash than my health...!

  • I can remember in the 40's loo paper was cut up newspaper pushed onto a nail in an outside toilet.
  • Try Andrex Eco made from recycled paper and Bamboo. It is strong but soft.:T
  • I buy mine from Iceland - £1 for 4 good-sized rolls & equal to any of the top brands. Lasts a decent amount of time as is very absorbent. Use it when I have a cold too since it's soft & doesn't rub my nose!
  • I believe that even so called "flushable wipes" don't dissolve and can block drains. If you don't believe it just get one and put it in some water and watch it dissolve (or not). However I too like the final wet wipe and use cheap baby wipes then put them in the very cheap Tesco Everyday Value Nappy Bags (35p for 300) tie up and put in my household rubbish. I also do the same with panty liners as I've known them to block the drains as well.

lol - and also saves more if you're water-metered.

Generally take one sheet at a time and make maximum use of it within the realms of decency and hygiene.

One sheet? Are you for real?! :rotfl:

Get a bidet, after all would you really just wipe your hand with a bit of paper if you had wee or poo on it?
